Buck's Diner is that "local flavor" restaurant that you look for when you're traveling. You know the one...the place all the people that live in the area go to but the "outsiders" may not know about. Delicious home cooking (with a gourmet twist!), good portions, owned and operated by an awesome Fairhope family. As they say, "try it, you'll like it!"

The owner there is so rude! She is a blonde headed woman who I've seen when I've dined in the restaurant. I've witnessed her actions, irritable behaviors, rude demeanor and snooty attitude. She has been so unpleasant and ornery on so many occasions. Today, I called to place a to go order. When I asked her to please tell me what specials were available on the menu today, she told me to hold on. This was a reasonable request I was making, but I knew it was at the end of a lunch hour, so I anticipated to have to be patient. I didn't expect for her to be the one who was very impatient with a customer over the phone. After i waited an unordinary amount of time, she asked me if she could fax or email the menu to me, because she said she had "a long line of customers ready to pay." I couldn't believe her attitude, nor her logic. The time it would've taken to email or fax that to me, she could have recited a few menu items over the phone. Instead, she wanted to inconvenience & impose imposition to another customer who would have also been a paying customer. Not only did she get a blistering review about her and her uncouth customer service, bur she lost good business with a paying customer!

THIS PLACE IS THE BEST. I HAVE NEVER HAD A MEAL THERE THAT WAS LESS THAN EXCELLENT. THE STAFF IS POLITE AND FAST. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO EVERYONE. IF YOU GO ONCE YOU WILL RETURN AGAIN AND AGAIN. THE FOOD IS HOME MADE AND DELICIOUS.

I have eaten at Buck's Diner on two occasions. I was so excited that a home cooking diner was in town. Well it is far from home cooking. Cooking out of a can is more like it and not even a good can for that matter. The food is over priced for what they are offering. The service is incredibly slow. They are more concerned about themselves than they are the customer. And if you want to order over the phone, do not expect care from the person on the other end of the line because you will not! They do not seem like they even want to take your order. In fact, you are made to feel like you are lucky that they want to take your order. When you get there, no one wants to even observe that you walk in the door. Thus again making you feel like you are inconveniencing them. One day I thought I would stick my head in the door and ask their hours. Everyone in the restaurant screamed at me at the top of their voices, "WE ARE CLOSED!!!!" I was scared to death! I then noticed their hours on the door after the very rude encounter. This place acts like they are more than what they really are!!! Good riddens. Do not even give them the satisfaction of walking in their door. They are a poor excuse for a restaurant.
