I'm rating my experience at this restaurant as a two based on the service. We arrived to a twenty minute wait along with other waiting patrons who obviously seemed frustrated. Myself and my friend, a party of 5 and another party of 2 waited for about 15-20 for a grill to open. We were sat all next to each other with only a little space in between each party. The gentleman within the party of 5 asked why we weren't socially distanced, suggesting that my friend and I be seated further away from them. The waitress responded with a confused look and basically told the man the the only seats available were the ones that we all were now accommodating. He and his family then decided to leave.
After taking our drink orders (that took quite a while to arrive), our waitress brought out soup. I informed her that my friend was not eating and that we would not be sharing either. On their menu, it states that they charge a $7 seating fee for (in bold) sharing only. She came back to take our food orders and she asked my friend again, if he'd be eating, even though we had told her he was not. She then proceeded to tell me that i would be charged a seating fee because the party of 5 left.
I have never ever been to an establishments that makes other patrons pay for it's losses. It is not my friend and I's fault that the restaurant wasn't following proper guidelines. It also explicitly says on the menu (for sharing only). The food wasn't bad, but the service ruined the entire experience. I was only able to get one refill the entire time sitting there and they charge automatic gratuity.
Worst hibachi experience.
