Top Reviews of Fabulous Brew Cafe

review_stars 11/23/2009 - big fan!
If you want a friendly environment to enjoy a delicious meal this is the place to go. Everyone that works here is very friendly and personable. The owners are always chatty and take their time to stop and chat with you. The food is wonderful - dinner can be pricey but it is totally worth it. They have a very talented chef who works magic with all of his dishes. I have never been displeased with a meal.

The weekends are always very busy, the only way that you won't have to wait at least 20 minutes to be seated is if you call ahead and make a reservation an hour before you come. Otherwise you'll be stuck waiting - but it is well worth it.

Great food, great people, great service - and they have fabulous coffee...I highly recommend this establishment!

First off I should say up front that this is not a food review. We never got to the food part. The service alone was enough to make us turn around and walk out the door.

On Sunday the 28th of June my wife, daughter, and I decided, despite recommendations to the contrary, that we would try the Fabulous Brew Café. We decided to arrive around 11:30am so as to beat the “after church” rush.

Upon arriving we found we were fourth in line behind a single, and two doubles, we of course, were a party of three. We were told that there would be approximately a 10 to 15 minute wait. Open tables in the restaurant were one six top, a four top, and a two top.

This is where it starts going down hill.

They seat the single at the two top, and they make the two doubles share the six top. So now we are next in line and we figure this is a ‘no brainier’ because there is an empty four top no less then 10 feet from us.

It was at this point that a young woman waked into the restaurant, completely bypassed the entire line and planted herself at the four top. I thought for sure the management would politely tell her there was a line. Instead, one of the waitresses came over, hugged her, and started chatting it up.

Meanwhile we hear the manager behind the bar tell the waitress to bypass us and seat the party of two behind us.

The frustration mounting we decided to give it a bit longer. It was at this point that a party of two came in and also bypassed the line. They told the people in line they already had a table and pointed to the four top with the single young woman at it. We told them that she had completely bypassed the line when she took that table. It was at this point the man told us and everyone else in line that she worked there so it was okay.

We left at this point.

Clearly the Fabulous Brew Café cares more about it’s off duty employees then it does about its paying customers. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why they have such a poor reputation in the area.

We have lived local to this restaurant for over 15 years and have seen management change at least three times. The current management is clearly the worst of the bunch, and that is unfortunate because it used to be a very community orientated establishment. Apparently now it’s become some sort of private club for employees.
