Husband & I use to go to Chula Vista a lot in the 90s when we lived in the area and the food was fabulous. Recently we were back in Beaumont visiting my dad at St. E and we stopped there for lunch remembering how good it was. We were so disappointed, it was awful. The salsa tasted & looked like tomato sauce. My husband had the super nachos that were anything but, and paid 5 bucks extra for a handful of sub par fajita beef. I had the mole & they got my order wrong, so after waiting for what seemed like forever I got some mushy bland rice & a chicken breast brushed with what tasted like bbq sauce with a ton of chili pepper and cinnamon. It didn't taste like any mole I've ever had, and I've had lots. So in short, we paid nearly 30 dollars for slop. It won't happen again.

Best Mexican food in town by far.. The hot hot sauce is outstanding. Everything I have eaten there has be awesome.
The Margarita's are the best also

Five of us ate there Friday night and the food was horrible. The chips were stale, the rice was hard and had no taste. Two people ordered chicken taco salads and received salty ground meat salads. The caso had no taste and worst of all were the margueritas......no flavor, Like drinking something that was sitting for a while and the ice had melted and made the drink weak.
It was a horrible experience!!!!
We all left hungry!
