The one redeeming quality of Jill's Restaurant is that it has good food. The service is unbelievably poor for any restaurant, never mind one in a high class hotel. There were long waits for drink orders, drink orders forgotten altogether, and gaps of time when the omelette/waffle chef was gone causing customers to wait at the counter. I was drinking water for my meal and my glass was not filled once during the entire meal (luckily there were extra settings at my table and so I drank those). The waiter never preempted us on anything, and it felt like we were always trying to track him down. I had a waffle ruined because the chef "forgot" to get it out of the maker on time.
Worse of all is the way the wait staff affects the atmosphere; not one of them smiled and not one of them looked happy. There were no pleasantries; it was like being waited on by an inept 12 year old. They weren't rude, but they weren't friendly or welcoming. The managers walked around hurriedly as if there were something important that needed attending; whatever it was must have been more important than the customers.
The best part is, after all that, being told that they added an automatic 20% tip for themselves. There goes their motivation for being a good server!
No matter what the food is like, I'll never go back there. It's just a downer of an experience topped with poor service.
