We are regular customers of Bertha's Kitchen. Every Thursday we order the beef stew and I ask for mine to be over rice with a side of green beans. The beef stew is awesome and it has potatoes and gravy too. My friend gets his with collards and cabbage on the side. A nice piece of cornbread finishes our lunch request off. Although the turkey wings are also the best ever, these ladies can cook. Give them a try !

Quite an experience! We were visiting from Rochester, NY and Columbus, Ohio. Parking lot was packed. I thought it was a juke joint at first site. We went in and the line was long. We ordered to take out. We could not wait to get back to our hotel. The food was amazing! Friendly environment and great food.

We went for lunch Great soul food ! Darn good fried chicken,Mac and cheese, greens and everything in between, excellent fried catfish!
Kind of out of the way in not so great of a neighborhood. Staff very friendly and fast. A must do when your in Charleston.

I haven’t had a meal at Bertha’s kitchen. The bread pudding and candy yams is something you don’t want to miss.

Omgsh!!! Their food is sooo good! My husband and I visited Charleston for the weekend and wanted some good home cooking. Having lived my whole life in the South...I know Soul Food. The fried chicken, pork chops, rice & brown gravy, yams, Mac & cheese and cabbage were awesome! Can’t wait to tell my family back in Charlotte about this experience!

Had the fish sandwich two big pieces of fish not broken in have saying it's a two piece and delicious 😋 filled me up for lunch definitely going back
