What is the owner thinking leaving these two un-supervised?
We decided to Visit Bubba’s on Tuesday for an early father’s day because my Dad has really missed the mac and cheese egg rolls and now we will NEVER RETURN.
My sister called ahead for details and requirements for a party of five, so when my husband and I showed up 30 minutes early for cocktails we had no idea we would be treated with such disrespect.

First off we walk in there is 1 table in the entire restaurant, no surprise as most locals aren’t quite comfortable dining out yet. The staff is just leaning around and did welcome us in the door, When we requested a table for 5 the young shaggy waiter waves his hand “-anywhere you want” His blonde sidekick turns around and walks away.
There are signs on every other table but I don’t see anything larger than a 4 top available not because they are busy but because they only have tables arranged for four guests.
I’m wearing a mask so my words are muffled, “I’m sorry we have five people total-“ He interrupts me “-ya wherever” and kinda scoffs like I am bothering him, I’m already annoyed no direction, no assistance but whatever right?
So I again I ask “-hey so there are five of us and these tables are kind small can we….” And at this point he interrupts me drags a chair from one of the neighboring table, pick it up and the metal slams to the ground causing the only other table to stare at us embarrassingly “Will this work?” He’s being very rude and acting like it such an inconvenience we are here. My husband in getting annoyed he knows I am not one to lose my crap let alone disrespect a fellow server as I have been a bartender/server for 10 years.
I take a breath because I understand people have hard days, and I tell him “-I’m so SORRY we’re kinda big people and my Dad is gonna be uncomfortable if we are bumping elbows.” Mind you both my dad and my husband are 6 foot plus BIG GUYS. The rest of us ladies aren’t the smallest either.

Now I know the last shift I worked our restaurants policy was POLITELY ask guest to not move around tables and we can not seat more than 6 people per table. I read the CDC website and they recommend the same things. So I didn’t want to just start moving furniture around but this guy just threw the menus down and went to walk away like this was our only option.

Now I’m pissed and I about to go all Karen on this pretentious fool. I told him “-so here’s the deal we need a bigger table” he lets out a loud ughh like sound and start slamming and I am not exaggerating here these metal chair are being scraped and thrown around and yet again the ONE table about 15 feet away from us are staring, I am mortified. We have had bad service here before but this guy is very aggressive, and is making feel very uncomfortable.
My husband and I begin to help in hopes we can just sit down and move on maybe a beer will fix this feeling, I motion to my husband to sit against the wall. Before we are even seated here comes the blonde chick who looks very young flying around the corner yelling. “You can’t move tables around- you need to move those back” She is staring at me… “It’s not allowed- she repeats herself. Home boy looks at her and says I don’t care and she continues to coach him in front of the entire restaurant scolding him… now I am really uncomfortable and over it. They have made this experience horrible.

“This is why I asked him ahead of time, the table is going to be too small for a party 5 my dad is a big guy and he is going to be uncomfortable… She interrupt me “-you need t put the tables back.” I repeat myself “-I don’t think he’s going to want to stay if we are all smushed together in this corner…” and without hesitation she says “THEN YOU CAN JUST LEAVE” I am in awe… never ever would I dare tell a customer that let alone someone who wasn’t trying to fight or argue.
At this point I’m furious and my husband looks at me without hesitation and basically says Eff this place lets go…The guy server says bye with an annoying smirk on his face.

I couldn’t get out of that place fast enough.
Mind you before the covid I recommended this place to my regulars, friends and clients from both jobs. I raved about the food and the atmosphere. I really like this place even though the server consistently SUCKED. I still went back I liked the vibe and style now I can promise you I will make sure everyone knows how horrible we were treated and how embarrassed the made me feel.

These are not the times to tarnish your reputation let alone disrespect clientele.
Karma is a funny thing.
