Delicious food, wonderful service, family friendly... my family and I have gone to this restaurant for more than 3 decades. Even now, having moved an hour and a half away, we have to dine there any time we're in DC! Try the shrimp with baby bok choy...or General Tsao's Chicken (my daughters' favorite), or, well anything. We've never gotten a disappointing dish at the Shanghai, and always leave with smiles. (Ask Rai anything and the comedy begins!)

Great food, great service, at at recession-friendly price. What's not to like. I enjoy being treated like one of the family.

I have been a fan of this resturant for over 25 years. It is well run and the food is terrifiic. The Wonton Soup is the best in town. Peking Duck and the shrimp dishes can't be beat.

One of the few family-run Chinese restaurants left in DC. The owner and manager is charismatic and friendly. A great place to take vegetarians and diabetics for dinner since they cater to individual tastes and can substitute ingredients as needed.
I've been a loyal fan since 1976. If you like steamed dumplings, buy them here. They're large and tasty. Other recommended dishes include the garlic eggplant with chicken and the Mongolian lamb.
