My husband of 48 years gave me the pick of a place to eat out for our anniversary. I picked here....bad mistake. I ordered the soup and salad bar....another mistake. There was no lettuce on the bar and the glass on the salad table was so dirty you could not even see the food. Told the waitress and about 10 minutes later she filled it up. There was no garlic sticks round crackers or soup bowls. I was not the only one to complain. It took the local people to complain before the soup bowls got brought out. The bathroom was also a dirty mess. Needless to say we will NEVER go back!

I'm not sure what is going on at Whits End on William St. in Decatur. My wife and I like the food there and usually eat there a couple of times a week and have been for years. This is the second Monday in a row that the service has been terrible. People that came in after us got their drinks and food before we did. When we left I mentioned the poor service issues we have seen there recently and I was told that they are short staff like that was my problem.

Food has not been the same since the last cook 14 years ago was there. His name was Kevin and he worked along side of kitchen manager Lisa. Both of them were the best cooks. He moved to CT at that time and just recently moved back to the area and now looking to set up his own diner in the north end of town.

My favorite place in town to eat by FAR!!! The best food anyone could ask for. Never had a bad experience here and don't believe anyone else has or would.

Whit's is a great place to go for a quick, peaceful family meal. It has a hometown diner feel; and, the staff is super friendly. We left my husband's jacket there last week; and, our waitress (whom I do not know outside of her job at Whit's) drove it out to my business outside Macon!!!
The country needs more mom and pop businesses! Whit's makes it easy to support local business!

i have visited this place near a dozen times and at least 9 of the times the service has been the worst i have ever seen. they don't get the order right, they have taken over 30 minutes before to get your order and serve you...I have had to leave before because my wife and two boys were never given a menu or order taken after 20 minutes of being ignored by the staff....this is a small town and don't any choices of places to go...and its not like the place is crowded with people... i have wanted to make this a place to eat lunch, but i don't have an unlimited time for lunch especially when i have to do without because no one will serve us

The Whit's End is a great affordable place to eat. They have a great menu selection and the BEST hand breaded pork tenderloins in town! :-) The staff is helpful and friendly and the kitchen manager, Angie, runs a tight ship. I love this place, whether going out for lunch, dinner, or a few drinks with the girls, you can't beat the Whit's End...unless of course you go to Whit's End 51 in Macon, IL. Both places ROCK!!!!
