When I found myself near Goshen in Northern Indiana, I made it a point to visit Heinnie's for a gastronomic delight. Despite the 60-minute wait on a bustling Saturday evening, the anticipation was well rewarded with their delectable fried chicken, a true farm-fresh delight reminiscent of home-cooked goodness. Alongside the flavorful chicken, their house-made chili and sampler platter rounded out the meal with excellence, leaving me planning my return for a taste of their renowned prime rib.

Family dining is Totally separate from the bar. We Like that.
Dining room entrance is on east side with large paved and lighted parking lot in back.
Enjoyed the privacy of high backed booth seating. Larger tables are available.
Service was almost immediate and friendly with food arriving in 10 to 15 minutes. (We did arrive just before 6 PM and they were much busier later.)
Filet (Mignon) was delicious.with a slight smoked flavor. It was a different format, about 1 1/4 inches thick, 6+ ounces. It cut easily with a fork.
An enjoyable meal!

I am not from Elkhart but my in-laws live there so on a recent visit (04/17/2012 @ 7:13 PM which was a Tuesday night) we waited for 38 minutes to be seated. One would think this was a good sign given the day of the week and the relatively early dining time. You had a large board posted in the reception area advertising your "SPECIAL RIBS). However when my brother in law order them he was told that "we don't serve those on Tuesday". When I asked why it was posted in the reception area she responded "that's not my problem - all I know is we don't serve them on Tuesday". He ordered something else and I might add we actually took it home in a dogie bag to feed their dogs as it was not that good. I ordered a Prime Rib (which is predominately featured on your menu) and was promptly informed by the same waitress that "We are out of Prime Rib". I had to settle for a hamburger and quite frankly "In-N-Out" in Las Vegas where I live has a better burger! My niece ordered 'smothered chicken dish' and we did not even bother taking that home to the dogs as I did not think they would eat it.If I could have rated you at 1/2 star I would have but you did not give me that choice.Bill Wilt, 317-430-9165
