DO NOT GO HERE. I was excited to try this buffet. Walking in, I loved that there were local sweet potatoes, tomatoes and honey for sale. We paid for our buffets and went on line…the food looked disgusting. I can’t even describe it…the carrots had a clear, wet and soggy look to them. Mac and cheese looked so artificial, worse than the Kraft brand. Everything looked old and solidified. It’s such a shame because being surrounded by farms the food should be fresh! All the serving utensils were sticky or slimy. I ate a few bites of mashed potatoes with gravy and it was nothing but salt. My husband had a couple small plates of food but only a few bites of each thing he took. He said it all was too salty and tasted like those frozen banquet meals. Fried chicken was pretty dry. I had sweet tea, figured that would be safe, but my mouth started feeling slimy from it. Decor was old, rugs were gross. I think this restaurant has a real opportunity to be something great…there really isn’t anything locally that I found can compare. They need to update and find new chefs who will utilize fresh produce, meat, and dairy from local farms. And skip all the salt!

We’ve eaten at this ole times country buffet several times. On the whole it’s pretty good and pretty busy, so I’ve excused a few things on the floor. I was a little disappointed today when we were charged $.99 for water. So, are they not making enough money already? I understand the cost of everything is going up, but I feel the customer is being charged unnecessarily. The water is served in a nice plastic “to-go” cup with their advertising on it. I didn’t request a souvenir cup. I will have second thoughts on going back.

We had a family and friends day out at this restaurant and could not have beef treated better. I love the vegetables and they were excellent. The salad was appreciated by several and reportedly good. No one of our 10 had anything negative to say. As age progresses I believe our taste changes. Do not blame the cook. Thanks for a great time. A slight mistake made on our ticket was pleasantly corrected. I hope to go back soon. This was a Saturday noon buffet. Very good.

This restaurant was very rude to me and my family last weekend. There was alot of black people in one area and they accused my family of stealing food and the food was not that good. Some of the people that was sitting where we were was not with us. We were mostly elderly and they were talking about us amongst themselves (the waitresses) One said they said that some of them paid for to go meals and the waitress said not one of those tickets was to go. I got up and showed them my mom's to go ticket and she paid for her meal that she was eating also. I asked the waitress that rang up her meals and she remembered also. There was more than one waitress who rang up the tickets. Then some of us got there at 11:30 and some at 1:00. But the one's who came earlier was sitting and talking to the late arrivals and one of the supervisors I guess came out in front of the other people in the restaurant and said that one of her waitresses said that some of our group was leaving without paying that was not true. They said that the one's that came earlier would have to leave because they have a policy that after 2 1/2 hours you have to leave and can not eat from the bar any more. There was no signs showing that policy. And we told them that the ones that were there earlier was just chatting. We had come together because a relative has become ill and the family gathered in Lake City to eat and fellowship with him. A aunt had called earlier and talked to someone and told them that a large group would be coming in. There was some other people in the back and we said that we would sit up front so the family that was walking in could see us. We were all having fun until this happened. Some of the older set said that they were not going to let that steal there joy. We told them that we were a christian family and that we could not help what happened but we did not know everyone that set in the area where we were sitting. We felt bad for our elderly family in there 70's and 80's for the rudeness that they had to witness. We spent alot of money in that restaurant that day. And the family said next time they will meet somewhere else.
