Please do NOT go to Salsas in Port Orange.

My husband and I had a family dinner we wanted to make special. I called as soon as the restaurant opened at 11am and they took a reservation for 11 people at 6pm where everyone could sit together.

We got there and we were put at the tables in the back. We pushed them together ourselves so we could sit together. We didn’t put a drink order in for another ten minutes since that is how long it took the server. When he got the drinks he did not give us straws even though they were asked for by multiple people. We got straws about ten minutes later, which is roughly when the server finally brought a drink to the three year old child at the table.

We waited with a cake we wanted to cut open to start our party. We asked for plates when we placed drinks. We didn’t get plates for an hour. We ended up cutting the cake and just putting it to the side.

After forty minutes I got up to find a manager to see if anyone was going to take an appetizer order or regular order. At this point the three year old child with the party was acting up since he was hungry.

The manager apologized and said she’d come take the order. She took her time taking care of other things and eventually came over to take the order and finally get a refill on drinks after, at this point, almost 50 minutes.

We finally were able to get a refill on some chips, as the two pregnant ladies, two elderly, and two people with diabetes all needed something to eat after almost an hour of waiting.

After another thirty minutes the first plate came out. Five minutes later another one and we were told tortillas would be coming shortly. (It took another ten minutes and by that time the food was room temperature). The fajitas never came with rice or beans or any type of set up. No one ever got any sour cream as requested. Another meal didn’t come with any rice or beans. And finally the server told us that the kitchen almost forget the child’s food. Another 15 minutes went by and the table was missing the set ups and two meals. Finally, the child’s meal came out. I cut it and the chicken was raw. Absolutely raw after at this point almost an hour and forty minutes since arrival.

The restaurant had turned their small tables over twice. The original server told us that he couldn’t get to us because he had five tables and we would be in his rotation. And then they served raw chicken to a three year old child. My husband ended up walking to Publix to get popcorn chicken for the poor child since the restaurant couldn’t manage to even cook chicken after so long.

The manager apologized and blamed her staff. She said she would give a discount.

She did not give a discount. She only took off the children’s chicken. And on all of the other meals she only discounted one - the one where the steak was so tough no one could cut it, let alone eat it.

Her apology was face deep at best. The management was absolutely horrid. They didn’t even try to make the experience better.

No one had a good time. And the family affair that was planned was ruined.

The service was the worst we ever had - anywhere.

The food was subpar and half of it was inedible or would make you ill if ingested.

I highly recommend you stay away from this place.

I am writing to express my disappointment because I called for a group reservation for a local church group for a Tuesday lunch bunch. There about 25 of us and we try to go to a different restaurant in the Port Orange area every 3rd. Tuesday of each month. I was told that they could not make a reservation for any Tuesday for some reason which did not make sense. The fact is they will lose potentially 25 customers and their contacts for not making this reservation possible. We will survive and find another place.
