We are fortunate to have such an amazing restaurant in this area. Jose is the best chef around-we go here all the time. He has catered for our parties and the food is always a huge crowd pleaser.

This restaurant is filthy if you take more than a cursory look. The first time I went the food was good, so I went back again. The food was not as good the second time but more than that, I visited the restroom. The glimpses I caught of the kitchen scared me. In the women's bathroom a roach crawled across the floor. I felt nauseated and got a headache while in the bathroom from the odor of mold. I looked at the ceiling and saw that the vent is literally covered in black mold. It is a very pungent odor that I'm sensitive to. The ceiling throughout the restaurant shows evidence of water damage. Ceiling tiles are falling down in the VIP room. I can't feel like spending an hour in such a toxic setting is good for my health.

If you haven't been to Girasoles lately, GO!! The menu has expanded, the atmosphere has much improved over the past year or so. The wait staff is professional. And, of course, Chef Jose is the VERY BEST! Ask your waiter to have Jose come by your table. He will customize your dinner. We eat there often. He remembers our likes and dislikes in a remarkable way. We had our Christmas Party in the VIP Room..... Beef Wellington carving station!! And the Blue Cheese Demi-glaze.. OMG!! No other place compares. Small restaurant, tucked in.....but most great ones are!

How many of us can say they spoke with the chef personally? If you've eaten at Girasoles then you know that Chef Jose not only greets you but he can assist you in making your dining request. Nothing is impossible, all you have to do is ask. The food is always fresh because it is ALWAYS made to order! Definitely a "go-to" when company comes to town.

I have eaten there for years and the food and service is great. Best chef, Jose, in the area.

I completely agreed with the rater above. Unsanitary, Sunday brunch food is old, recicled, and the owner is a joke himself.

review_stars 12/03/2009 - Horrible
This place is a mess. Perhaps it can but on a good front but don't be fooled. I worked here for several months and I regret having been a part of it. The owner buys all of his food at local grocery stores such as Sams and Publi, so don't think you are getting fresh food. You can buy most of the desserts at Sams for the price you will pay for a slice or two. the method of preparing the food was often unsanitary and once while cleaning out the potato bin I found that it was full of maggots. Don't eat here you are supporting a joke of a restaurant.
