There is something very special about Helmers..it's like stepping back in time when you enter..the tin ceilings, the booths, the steins about the old bar..even the old powder room has the original tiles and old glass door from the early 1900's! love the place..and the food? well, if you want good hearty REAL food, you will find it here. Steach Sandwich the best..soups fabulous, strudel to die for. My husband and I brought 2 other couples here and all enjoyed..just plain ole GOOD..and though I don't drink beer the guys' loved the varieties..

Food is terrible and way overpriced. They are charging NY prices for very low quality food. Everyone working there is rude and the wait time for your food is extremely long.
The whole experience is unacceptable and very disappointing. Would not recommend it to anyone.

I have been going to this restaurant for year and was happy to see they recovered from the fire they had. I don't live in town anymore but was happy to be able to spend time there over the holidays this year. As always the food was great, especially the steak sandwich and the atmosphere was wonderful. So happy to you guys open again.

The service here is horrible. The waitress spilled a beer all over me and didn't buy back a drink. The food is extremely over priced and is not authentic German food. The only reason to go here is to grab tasty German beer.

The food here is mediocre and overpriced. The service definitely needs improvement and make sure you aren't in a rush when you go here.
