We moved to the area a couple years ago and are trying to branch out to outlying restaurants, so for a party we threw a couple Saturdays ago, we decided to try Vince's in Pingree Grove. After booking the catering with Vince directly, here is what we think...If you are considering this place for catering, I would do some more research. Our food came on time but it was lukewarm. They forgot the stands and sternos to heat the food, so we called the restaurant and explained what happened. They came out a second time (45 minutes later) and brought the stands but once again forgot sternos. We tried calling to talk to Vince but he was "too busy". The receptionist called back a couple of hours later and offered to take $25 off the bill per Vince. Apparently $25 is the going rate for ruining a surprise party. We were supposed to eat at 6 pm but it was about 8:30 pm by the time we had all of the food reheated. Many of the guests who had to leave early did not get to eat. The guests who did eat were mostly polite as they picked at it. The beef is like thin strips of a Goodyear tire mixed in with some fat, and the pasta sauce rivals some watered down ketchup packs from McDonald's that you could have squeezed into the bowl yourself. It turns out the owner, Vince, is the one who cooked our food, since we later found they were "short staffed" the day of our event. If the owner cooks like this, I'd hate to see what his less experienced chefs would do. My advice? Reconsider.
