I was once a young waitress & hostess who was employed at Pumpernick's that of which used to be located in the Ranchmart shopping strip/center. I had worked there for a little over 5 years in the late 80s to early 90s. And based upon my own personal experiences of working there, would also explain why I've NEVER worked in the restaurant & food service industries ever since lol. HOWEVER, way back then when I had worked there, the menu items that P'nick's served were actually REALLY good. This is because a fella (with the initials of B.S.) who had also worked there during the same time as I did, he was a legitimately experienced professional chef (& not just some working poor minimum wage earning grossly underpaid disgruntled line cook who hated absolutely their job.) I liked & got along quite well with all of my fellow co-workers & even our restaurant manager was a super nice guy & totally cool too. But unfortunately, what typically makes the restaurant & food service career choices so terrible for the wait staff, servers, cooks & chef's, is mainly due to the awful owner's of those establishment's. Plus, of course as well as dealing with so many rude, impatient, indifferent, inconsiderate even some abusive diners, customers & patrons that will come in to eat from the streets, those overly entitled types who exist out there in the general public.

We take my mom there for breakfast every week and think the food is great and the service is wonderful. They added some bakery good to the choices and are delish.

YUCK! This used to be a great breakfast place with a line out the door. It was recently sold and now it is awful! I think people are getting a clue because now there is never a wait. My advice: Go somewhere else and enjoy. If you go to Pumpernicks, you will most likely have a bad start to your day.
