Great spot for lunch, very close to my office. We always be there in and out in just about 40 mins. Food also always great.

Awful lunch experience today, 11/2/09. The service went from bad to worse. The server had apparently gotten out of bed on the wrong side. She asked us if we were ready to order - we were - and I started to order - she grabbed the menu out of my hand so that SHE could write my order on the menu!!!! I had to ask my lunch companion for his menu so that I could continue to order. She pretty much sat all of the food down at one time. I ordered my spice level at a 2 - it came as about a 5 -very hot. My lunch companion ordered his at a -0- (zero) - it came as a 10+ -When we complained she said - well it has a spicy sauce. In order to eat his meal he had to dunk his food in the soup (good thing it came a the same time as the meal) to get the hot spice off. It was so hot that it actually burned the inside of his mouth. We will never go back again. The service was TERRIBLE. The food - since it was not how we ordered it - to us was AWFUL. Also, the bathrooms were dirty. I always think that if the bathroom is bad - then that is the same care you can expect of the kitchen. Will not go back............... We eat Thai all the time at Mai Thai in Florence and would rate it five stars.

This is the best restaurant for Thai cuisine and sushi in the Cincinnati area! Far better than Teak and Lemongrass, Sweet Basil offers a friendly atmosphere with high-quality, freshly-made Thai dishes that are absolutely delicious. Pad See Ew, Pad Kee Mao, Pepper Garlic, and Duck Curry are among my favorites. The sushi bar is excellent, and extremely fresh. The owner is the sushi chef, and will offer up great conversation while you sit at the sushi bar. There are some very tasty rolls on the menu. My favorites include New York (tuna, spicy mayo, avocado, and tempura flakes), Mona Lisa (smoked salmon, avocado, crab, spicy sauce, kiwi, and sweet sauce), and the Crazy Horse (smoked salmon, cream cheese and avocado, all tempura-fried and served warm).This restaurant is highly recommended! My husband and I go at least once a week - look for us at the sushi bar!
