Reviews of Sushi Spot
03/02/2016 - Shayla
We go to Sushi Spot as it is the only sushi for miles as we now live on Norris Lake. We are used to eating at high end restaurants and expect the same kind of service here. When you sit at the bar you expect some kind of interaction from your server, owner (who was there), someone!! Our waitress passed by us numerous times, owner passed by also, never asked did we need anything, etc. Had to get their attention to ask for another glass of wine, a small plate for our soy sauce (evidently it takes a lot to wash those little saucers under your soy sauce dish--we didn't get one). All it would take for our loyalty is a smile, one minute of eye contact, etc. AND there were only a few occupied tables at the time we were there. Running a successful restaurant is not just running around from table to table getting the job done and the evening over with. ..getting to know your customers or at least acknowledging them is a start. This place gets mixed reviews. We've eaten there 5 times, and have always been seated and served appropriately. They should be a little faster since the're a small place, but the food has always been good.
The prices are slightly high for the quality, but its the Only place to get sushi in north Knoxville, so what can you do?

The food and service are very good....although sometimes a little slow. Our gang loves to take advantage of half price night on Mondays. The only problem is that even after we spend a good amount of money on food and wine, they will not allow us to carry out sushi to our kids at home. This isn't a good thing for the amount of money we spend there, without taking younger children in who might interrupt adults night out. This policy definitely needs to be be reevaluated.
