The quaint little building located at 223 Richmond Street was initially constructed in the early 1920's and has lived through several incarnations since then, the most recent of which being the much loved Mexican restaurant, Casa Raphael. Because it had not been updated for the past twenty years, a complete overhaul taking fourteen months of construction was in order to restore the interior to it's historic roots. The name Second City Bistro was inspired by the town, El Segundo, which in turn got it's name when Standard Oil chose it for the site of their second refinery in 1911. Since it's opening in August of 2003, Second City Bistro has received a great deal of critical acclaim and has become a destination point in the South Bay.
