I along with a group of 14 of my co-workers went to Charlies' when we arrived with 7 of us about 5:30-5:45 pm we was told that we would have to wait until the whole party arrives. We were seated about 6:20 this was 20 minutes after our party arrived, which was okay because we realize the place is amsll and we were a big party.
The waitress came to the table to take our order and instead of taking everyone's order she took 4 orders and went to another table, she returned and took 4 more orders and went to another table. Now this was not fair, because whether we were a party of 4 or 14 the entire table's order should have been taken together. No mind you this was about 6:20 pm. They begin to bring our food to the table around 7:20 pm an whole hour, and the people that were seated after us had there food before us. I believe if one of my parties would not have gotten up to complain we would have waited even longer.

I took my wife out to eat here for our 10th anniversary and the food is VERY good BUT....... She ordered a #4 seafood platter and it was supposed to have fried shrimp on it and there was none! I gave her some of mine. But it is good food with reasonable prices.

THE FOOD IS SOOO GOOD , BE SURE TO GET THERE EARLY OR YOU WILL BE STANDING IN LINE. BUT, IS IT ALSO, WORTH THE WAIT. FRIENDLY STAFF TOO. WE ENJOY EVERY TIME WE GO.

Great down home southern Louisiana cooking. The portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable.
You GOTTA try the stuffed mushrooms, and the Charlie's platter will challenge the biggest appetite.
If you want Hoity Toity go somewhere else ... like next door to Lagniappe where the portions are smaller the prices are bigger and you wont feel over dressed in a suit and tie. But if you want gooooood food and a great time visiting with family and friends, dress comfortably and bring everyone to Charlie's. You can afford this.

Been there many times. It is very near to where I live (only a few miles down LA22). Everything there is excellent, but if you've never tried the stuffed mushrooms, you don't know what you're missing. You get four very large. It is an appetizer, but you could make a meal out of it. We usually eat two and bring two home. They are the size of tennis balls.

this is my favorite seafood & steak place ever. It is worth the drive. large portions. We always bring home food. The best fried seafood in LA. catfish shrimp & oysters The steaks are huge, juicy. THE PEOPLE ARE GREAT ALSO.

This is my favorite place in the world. I have been here several times and every time is better than before. You will not find another place in La. that is this good, such large portions and great price. Go early especially on Thursday Night(Steak Night, the best) or you will wait a very long time.

This restaurant is fabulous. Years ago we would go and the food was outstanding and the pricing was awesome. We have a family of five and if we went on friday we would all order a platter as well as appetizers and our bill was never over sixty. And we would walk out with so many plates of left overs that we could all eat the rest of the weekend. The only downside is this lil honey hole has become well known and its always packed but as for our family we will gladly wait.... cuz everything they have to offer and those prices is well worth the wait!!!

Five of us dined and all five raved about how wonderful the service is and the food is fantastic. We had fried and grilled and everything perfect. Can't say enough positive about this place. We all said we will return!!!!

Ordered the Catfish Special and was amazed at the price and the portion of food. Catfish was great, but I was taken by surprise by the rice dressing served with it. What a great deal and meal. Can't say enough good things about my first meal at Charlie's! It won't be my last.

Ordered the Seafood pasta, very small shrimp, like 100-150ct., and was more of a etouffee than a pasta dish, served warm to room temp., not hot and really no flavor at all!!! Potato salad very bland, jalepeno poppers are sliced peppers rolled up in a bread stuffing, little crab meat found or tasted. Boiled Shrimp salad, shrimp were very mushy and not fresh. Should of ordered fried seafood!!!!
