First of all, let me say I have been a patron of this coffee house for some years. At least up until yesterday when Mrs. Campbell comes out and advises that people are not allowed to sit in the chairs in front of the shop. She goes on to tell me that she has been outside at least 20-30 times during the day explaining to various people that unless they are patrons, they are not allowed to sit in the chairs. I looked around for a sign advising me of this new rule and asked her why the change. Her response was "This is not a bus stop - this area is for customers only. As I was the only person sitting out there, I wondered why she suddenly felt she needed to remove me from the area. I reminded her of my patronage each day and she conveniently pretends that can't recall who I am. The one day I don't want to buy anything she advises me I can't sit at the tables in front of the restaurant. Even after movinhg on and telling her I understood, she continues to try and explain 'the rules' LADY, GET A CLUE OR A SIGN! You've lost a great customer because your policies and your attitude sucks!!!!!

As much as I love to support locally owned Old Louisville businesses, I refuse to patronize Old Louisville Coffeehouse.
The woman who runs the place is rude and self-righteous! Today's visit was the last straw:
I arrived at OLC early to meet a friend of my mom's for coffee. While I was waiting my turn in line, he showed up. He said he needed to use the bathroom and I informed him that because they keep the restrooms padlocked, he would need to ask for a key. While the woman (owner) at the counter was waiting on some kids picking out candy, he grabbed an opportunity to ask for the key. She shot him a look and said "I'm with a customer!". So he waited until they paid, at which point she asked for my order. I asked if she could let him in bathroom while I decided what I wanted and she said ""NO- it's 1st come 1st served." I said "but he's with me, it's OK" yet she refused to let him in the bathroom! I was infuriated by her tone, and her spitefulness (apparently, she wanted to punish my 60-year old guest for rudely interrupting her?!?!)So I said - "you know what-forget it. I don't want anything." And went to retrieve my things. Then, like a crazy person, she followed me to the table and tried to explain "the rules". What I should have said, but wasn't able to at the time was "Look lady - I have worked in the service industry for YEARS and I would never have been so rude, so unprofessional, and so inappropriate to a customer. It's bad business, and your customer service SUCKS."
Oh - and by the way? For iced espresso drinks, I've noticed they press all the espresso in the morning and use it all day. So if you get one, there's no telling how fresh it will be.
