The worst attempt at Mexican food. Americanized garbage. Don't waste your money.

My family and I love this place - the decor is fun, the prices great and the food the best around - good portions and oh-so-tasty. Our favorites are their burritos and I always want to try the other yummy-looking items but can't stand the thought that I won't have my burrito.

Went to this place last year after the Lowell folk festival and enjoyed it and wanted to come again.

What a mistake!

The owner was VERY Rude and made customers move their tables to make room for a card table. She didn't ask them if it was ok but ordered them to move. Before this stunt we were very relaxed enjoying our margarita and had some nice shade but after the move the sun was glaring in our eyes. She did not offer to bring us an umbrella. Definitely spoiled the relaxing mood I was in. Will Never go here again. I confronted her and said she know nothing about customer service and I did not
get any response or apology.

this is not mexican, the waiter told us the lady is an American..... no wonder the quality, and my chicken had human hair!....... two expensive for what we had. we crossed the stree, the new mexican, and these guys are from Sonora, a lot better! this is really Mexican food......... just cross the street everyone! that is true Mexican flavor!

Basically, you get what you pay for. The food is so-so, but cheap prices. The couple times I've been, they got our order wrong, so I can't rave about the service. Cool place to hang out, fried ice cream is pretty good. Bottom line: eat dinner somewhere else unless you want Mexican fast food.

Best burrito I've ever had!

Small mexican place with GREAT burritos, GREAT service, GREAT location, but really small inside. I could imagine that on a nice day, the place gets busy, but I loved it!

Do yourself a favor. Go directly across the street to Mr. Jalapenos. Now THAT'S Mexican!

Good food. Great atmosphere. Fair price. If you expect a formal sit down establishment you may be disappointed - a bit small or "cozy." Its all about the food though, and its good.

great food, great spot, bit pricy and inconsistant.

I had to get to Mambo considering all the frenzy abou the place. Kind of disappointing. I have to agree with a previous post that this is more a mexican fast food joint. Neat place, just not a sit-down kind of restaurant.

McMambo's in four easy steps:
1) Go to counter; place order
2) Take plastic basket with burrito to condiment station.
3) Pick up napkins and plastic utensils.
4) Sit and eat.

You might think this was fine dining Mexican. It's not.

Honestly, I've had better burrios elsewhere. Nothing wrong with their burritos. They're just nothing special. Friendly service though. You get a very warm, hospitable feeling when your in this place. Go on Friday and hopefully there wil be some cool band their. Stay a while. You'll have fun.

The Mambo Grill is my new favorite place to eat in Lowell! The atmosphere is fun and creative; losts of bright colors, art, latin music, and even a beautifully decorated ladie's bathroom! You just cannot beat the prices and the quality of food here. I'm diabetic and can't eat their burritos, but my friends all love them. My personal favorite is their chicken caesar salad- it is huge enough to be a filling meal, and they add some mexican twists to it like some splashes of salsa and pico de gallo.... it is so delicious! Good selection of Mexican juices, beers, and wines as well... Definitely a place to check out!

GREAT restaurant!

I will always remember that the first time I went there, I ate a burrito that was the best burrito I've ever eaten in my LIFE. No joke!
The food is delicious, the place itself is really quirky and cool, and the prices are good.

Only downsides? Sometimes it takes a while for your food to be ready if it's busy. Cramped working space and a lot of customers will slow the place down.
Oh, and if you forgot cash, you're out of luck.
No debit/credit!

But still worth the trip, no doubt!

Excellent authentic Mexican fare. The tables are funky mosaic designs!

The Mambo Grill is a great little place. The food, service, and atmosphere are all excellent. The burritos and sweet potato fries are highly recommended. They also make their own sangrias and have a small but nice selection of beers.
