You'd think that the management would welcome you and thank you for your business... NOT HERE!

This female manager acts hostile and menaceing and is really scary. Twice we went in early when the place was practically empty and she refused to let us sit anywhere but a really terrible table for two. Both times we left. If it weren't for her we would go more often because of the food and lovely atmosphere. It's too bad that the owner allows her to continue working in the restaurant.

The lowest rating offered was a 1-star. If I'd been able to give no stars, that's what I would have done. We had a sizable group visiting the Greenbush to celebrate our annual Christmas gathering, which occurs there every year. The organizer contacted the restaurant ahead of time to notify them we would be coming again and gave them a estimated group number of 24. We arrived when they opened so only 1 other couple was there at the time. We stayed in the bar area and did not occupy their tables. We spent a lot of money on drinks, a couple meals and ordered pizzas. We're all in our 50's and 60's. No one had too much to drink and we were all well behaved. Suddenly, the owner told us we all had to leave and said we were interfering with her business and customers. When challenged with "we are your customers" and questions about what we'd done wrong, she called one member of our group a f_ _ _ ing a_ _ hole. We naturally objected and she told us she'd called the police. The staff took a drink out of one man's hands (over half full). The owner and staff were very rude and man-handled one of our friends out of the bar when he objected. It was shocking that a owner of any restaurant would behave this way and turn away business. None of our group, friends or family will ever go back to this restaurant and I highly recommend you don't either.

Previous comments about management at this restaurant, particularly Friday night manager are right on. On more than one occasion she was publicly insulting and unprofessional. Don't waste your time, there are a lot of very good Italian restaurants in Madison.

This is my favorite in Madison for both pizza and salad, but their service has been slipping for years.
The last time I was in, we stood for 30 minutes before a hostess came greet us and put us on the list. When we did get a table, we sat 30 minutes before a server took our drink order. Then she forgot our drinks, our large pizza came out cold and not sliced, and there was an industrial staple in my salad (which was also missing olives)!
When I flagged down the server to report the staple in my salad, the manager jumped in and argued that it was impossible for me to have found a staple in my food because "there is no stapler in the restaurant." Well, the Christmas lights are staple-gunned to the ceiling, and I imagine that their distributor delivers food in stapled boxes, so it's easy for me to see how a little carelessness could result in this.
When I asked point-blank if she thought I was lying or had put it there myself, she just walked away. Ultimately, she did take the salad off the bill, but that was not really the point.
I guess in the future I will still call for pick-up, but only on a night that I imagine they'll be slow...

We just found this little gem! The pizza was outstanding with fresh tomato, fresh basil, fresh garlic, green/black olives and the crispiest best crust I have ever tasted. Ice cold Beer and of course, wonderful freshly made desserts. The Tiramisu was wonderful.

This is one my favorite restaurants in Madison! They have wonderful food and both the servers and bartenders are very attentive. It is fairly small and gets very busy on most days but despite the crowd I always have a wonderful! They have an amazing wine selection that is always changing as well as draft beer. I love their mojitios in the summer too! Their pizza is the best in town and the rest of the menu is wonderful! The staff is also very friendly and the manager even stopped by my table once while we were eating just to see how everything was going and she ended up chatting with us for a few minutes. She was very warm and personable and added to our enjoyment of the evening.

The people are incredibly rude and you have to be 21 to eat in this restaurant, which is ridiculous. You can't even dine unless you are 21. There were 3 of us were were 21 and they inspected our ID's for 5 minutes each and then were incredibly rude about everything and 1 person was 20 and they kicked us out. I spoke with the manager and she was the most inconsiderate lady I have ever met. She was also very stupid. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. People are very rude and the atmosphere is awful. Do not go here!
