Took 2 hours for delivery, called twice, and were told the food be there in 20 minutes, took an hour and half after calling. Man on the phone and delivery man we rude. Cucumber sauce tasted suspiciously like ranch dressing. The drink order was incorrect. Will never order from there again.

jumbo!!! they have great gyros, and they are thick cut best hangover food ever.

Rude owner. Bad service. Food is good but overpriced. Very slow. Took them more than 1:30 hr to deliver their food.

Ornery is definitely the right word to describe the guy behind the counter... I cant believe he is in restaurant business...

Oh, where to begin...I should have left when upon arriving, it appeared that the tables/floors had not been cleaned in quite some time. The cook/waiter was in regular clothes; he did not wear gloves when preparing our food, nor did he wash his hands after taking our money. He watched me try to wipe down my table. It was so cold you could see our breathes! Food was adequete, and I prayed we wouldn't get ill due to the uncleaniness. Do not eat here. My husband insisted we leave a tip (which I did...) I will not be back.

Bad service, bad food. The first experience I had with this restaurant was when I called them to see where my order was since I had ordered it 50 minutes ago. They told me they didn't have anymore of the dish I ordered but I could pick something else. I canceled that time. The second time, I ordered chicken curry with nan and a mango lassi. After an hour and 40 minutes of waiting for my food, I called them and asked where my order was. The man on the line argued with me, saying that it had been less time than that. (Isn't the customer always right?) So after two hours I received my delivery. First off, the chicken curry was just dark meat chicken in a slightly spicy, oily liquid, not actually curry. The nan was pita bread, not nan. And the mango lassi tasted watered down and the components were separating in the cup. Not what I ordered, not good at all. DO NOT EAT HERE!

This restaurant was reviewed many times in different journals, including wisconsin state journal(3/16/2008) and had always excelent reviews.
Its last review was reported in 77SQUARE (July 8-14, 2010). The review says:

AMPLE SANDWICHES AT CAMPUS BIRYANI & GYROS
BY MARLY SCHUMAN
Special to 77 Square

With its name and location right near Camp Randall, Campus Biryani & Gyros caters to students, but the affordable and tasty cuisine should appeal to more than just the UW-Madison set.
Offering a mix of Indian and Mediterranean, Campus Biryani & Gyros shows that sometimes foods least expected to work well together, do. Adding to the experience is a chef happy to customize meals. A gyro with tahini sauce, no onions? No problem.
While most of the Indian cuisine runs north of $7.70, the gyros here are one of the best bargains. They come in two sizes, regular ($5.95) and jumbo ($6.95). Another affordable option is the jumbo falafel sandwich ($6.50), substantial with its seven pieces of falafel. Most people would be more than satisfied with a regular-sized sandwich, even for dinner.
The tandoori chicken sandwich ($6.50 for a regular) is the perfect fusion of Indian and Mediterranean cuisines. This pita sandwich comes with char-grilled chicken, tomatoes, onions, cucumber suace and a sprinkling of fresh parsley on top. The abundant chicken is flavorful and nicely spiced. Meat-lovers should take advantage of the huge serving here.
Samosas ($5.95), a quintessential Indian starter, are the only appetizer at Campus Biryani & Gyros. This vegetarian bundle of potatoes, peas and spices are fried up tomperfection with a crispy shell. They have a serious kick, so the sweet, syrupy sauce that accompagnies tehm is just right. Two come in an order, but the portionss are so huge that they are ideal for sharing or as an entree for one. The crunchy, flavorful samosas are worth the trip alone, and the spicy potatomixture doesn't taste too bad on the warm pita bread, either.

Do not! Repeat! Do not step foot in this place! The restaurant is dirty and disorganized as well as the Kitchen. I don't think the kitchen has been cleaned in ages! If anyone from the Board of Health is reading this, I implore you to check this place out! The service, lousy at best! The guy who took my order was the only one back there. He had on regular clothes, no apron, and was on the phone 95 percent of the time I was there. He would ask what I wanted and then take another phone call before I could order. Lastly, and most importantly, the food was awful! Made me sick! There were strange bits of black gristle (?) on my fries and the falafel tasted like it was cooked in oil that needed to be changed weeks ago. Just avoid the place...hopefully it will close soon.

My best place for Gyros. Authentic Gyros and best fries as well.

Do NOT, I repeat. Do NOT order the Vegetable Korma. WHat arrived was more akin to a canned salt-free, flavor-free vegetable soup. The biriani rice, thankfully, saved me from going without lunch today. I wish there was a website where I could leave feedback. Ick.

They have the best gyros in town. I always order online and be served sometime within 30 mins but sometime it can take over 45 mins if they are busy. I tried almost all their menu items and was never disapointed. For those who are pick you can always make a request on particular way your food can be served to you. They have affordable prices and specificaly for students to have a good meal.

I am in shock after my first experience with Campus Biryani. I ordered it online hoping it would be a better alternative to the overly expensive Parthenon Gyros.

We ordered our food online through campusfood.com. Its supposed delivery time was 45 min. After an hour I called the guy to see what was up. He tried to argue times with me which was ridiculous in itself because I had my computer order right in front of me.

About 20 minutes after this interaction I get a call from the delivery guy telling me to meet him outside cause he cant find my house. I've ordered food from several places and countless times over the year and never once has this occurred. I meet him outside and before I can give him his tip he pushes the food in my chest and storms away.

Food sucked. I cant believe the place is still in business.

The WORST encounter I have ever had with a restaurant. We placed an order with them they asked uif I wanted potatoes in my order. I said yes, since potatoes were in the dish description. They asked if I wanted chickpeas, I said no. They hung up and I called back asking what in the world was going on. The order was late, and I didn't know why they were just now bringing this up when they should have brought it up when the order was first placed. It turns out that potatoes and chickpeas are cooked together in the morning and they were going to PICK THROUGH my dish to get rid of them. I asked them to cancel my order and they refused to do so until after a very long argument. I will never ever order from this place again. I can't believe that they would have the nerve to treat a customer like that.

I have been ordering from this restaurant for over a year now. They serve buffet which they change everyday. They have excellent food especially their biryani rice. My favorite in buffet: lamb chapli kebab, chicken tika, lamb curry, chicken curry and the vegetarian dishes. Never disapointed

review_stars 04/16/2009 - James
I’ve given this place three shots as I regularly work and go to class just a few blocks away. Each time I was disappointed. In all three cases, the rice was not fresh and the main disk was lukewarm. If you want a good laugh, order the Chicken Tikka Masala. Best of all, the owner will blow you off until you actively try to order.

Excelent food reasonably priced. They have authentic falafel and gyros and a delicious mediterranian couscous.

review_stars 02/03/2009 - Suzan
They have the best Gyros in Town. I odered from them Gyros and Lamb Couscous and was served in 25 mins. I never had couscous like theirs, it's absolutely delicious. Try it, you will never be disapointed.

review_stars 01/11/2009 - Still waiting...
I've ordered from these guys a few times, and their gyros, while greasy, are pretty tasty. The service has always been more than a bit surly, but tonight takes the cake. Here's a breakdown:
7:50 P.M. I order two jumbo gyros with no onions and no tomatoes. After giving my credit card info to the guy on the phone (who is ornery as anything) I repeat: "I did say 'No tomatoes and no onions, right?" "I heard you!" he snaps.

9:10 PM I call back, reminding him that I placed my order an hour and twenty minutes ago. I had expected the standard "It will be there soon," but was somewhat surprised to hear him say, "The driver will be back soon and he will pick it up then."

9:30 The food finally arrives. I bring it into my apartment to find two gyros with-- you guessed it-- onions and tomatoes. I call to inform the restaurant of this error. The guy on the phone adamantly insists that, having prepared the order himself, he is certain there are no onions and tomatoes, to which I respond that I am, in fact, looking at onions and tomatoes. Now all these shenanigans would have been enough, had I not received another knock on my door at...

9:40 The delivery guy knocks on my door. He does not have my food. He is here to PICK UP the erroneous order! This is the sort of thinking that leads these folks to take two hours delivering your food. I ask him why he is stopping by for this food, but the question seems to go over his head. "Never mind," I say, "It's just that it's been two hours." "Yes," he responds. "But we are very busy."

9:50 Still waiting for my gyro and saliva combo...

campus biryani is my best with its variety of delicious food and affordable prices. As a student I tried almost everything and I recommended this restaurant to all my friends.

review_stars 12/04/2008 - Gina
tried many dishes and we were never disappointed. They have excenlent lamb and chicken prepared in so many ways. We first tried the restaurant when it was mentioned in Wisconsin State Journal.

They have the best Samosas I have ever had. The combination between Greek salad and lamb kebab is my favorite. The prices are afordable for me as a student. Thanks chef.

Excellent Biryani and Gyros. I was happy with the delevery service. My Order took 30 mins. The delevery personne was polite and offered me a delevery coupon. I would recommende this restaurant to everyone.

Only tried Delivery and the delivery boy was extremely rude. I would not recommend this to others and do not plan to order from them again.

This restaurant has the worse service. I ordered food to be delivered and it took twice as long as they said it would take. When I called the manager didn't listen to me. And he hang the phone up on me. Never go to this restaurant or order from this restaurant they do not respect or care about there customers and tell everyone that

Good food and excellent salads prepared at a relaxed pace. The Quality is well above average for UW's Campus area.

review_stars 06/12/2008 - Genie
The food is very good. I love the gyros. And their chicken is very good too. The mango lassi is a very tasty and healthy drink. Th owner is very polite and helpful. He makes delicious Nan bread.

review_stars 02/24/2008 - Alex
Perhaps it would have been OK if he just had been rude on the phone. Perhaps it would have been OK if he could not find our house when given directions twice. Perhaps, it would have even been OK if he had gotten my order wrong. However, in the space of two hours and 15 minutes since we placed our order and got our lukewarm food delivered, i could not say all was OK. The lassi was watery and the unordered chicken biryani was mediocre at best. Instead of giving us our money back, the delivery guy gave a shadowy promise for a "compensation next time" without bothering to take our names/phone number. Rest assured, there won't be a next time, and I hope there will not be a first time for any of you.
