review_stars 04/10/2023 - Take out diner beware
I appreciate that the food is organic but this place could improve. I didn't get the yams I ordered and paid an extra 3.75 for. There was a suggested tip of 15%, which I added to the order hoping there would be care put into the meal. Still didn't get what I asked and paid for. Overall, I am disappointed and I was expecting more for the $50+ meal I paid for.

Also, I asked for the salad to be dry and they failed on that too. The greens are all wilted.

What an absolute disaster

If you are looking for a restaurant that serves fountain soda this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a vegetarian/vegan friendly, organic, free range, earth friendly meal then welcome to paradise! Great food amazing atmosphere! I am always excited to go here because it is the only restaurant I know of that serves bone broth soup! I would also suggest the kale salad!

First off, save yourself the time and money and DON'T go there! If there was a way I could give less than a 1 star rating I would.

The menu looked interesting so my boyfriend and I decided to give it a shot. It was clean and the artwork on the walls were nice but I was put off that for a restaurant, we ordered and paid at the counter before the food was even brought out to us. They have their menu posted on the wall along with short descriptions of their various sauces. Looking at the prices, I was pleased that they were fairly reasonable.

They didn't have a very extensive menu but I quickly noticed how everything was organic this and free range that. Okay, I expect this from Ashland. I ordered a teriyaki ginger chicken and my boyfriend created a bowl. He wanted a specific type of sauce that was posted but was told that the sauce was not offered for his "make your own bowl." Apparently it was "too expensive." He made his bowl and asked for both tofu and chicken which increased the price by $2.75 to a bowl that started off at $8.50. I don't mind paying a little extra if the food is worth it.

There are all sorts of different types of beverages available but nothing that is commonly offered at other dining establishments. Not feeling quite that adventurous, I chose ice water. They don't have ice. They have water in a dispenser at room temperature. The "waitress" doesn't bother herself by doing anything except the bare minimum. She took our order and our money at the counter along with a tip in advance! We served ourselves our water, our silverware, and our napkins.

When the food finally did arrive, the wait was not very long, there was next to no people in the dining room, I was shocked to see what I had just paid for. My plate was 3/4 full of a salad, maybe 2 oz. of chopped chicken, and a pathetic portion of rice. My boyfriend had a good size bowl but the contents barely filled half of it. There were pieces of cubed tofu and chicken. My $2.75 additional charge perhaps purchased an 1.5 oz. of chicken. This was accompanied by a small amount of rice, however it was maybe a couple kernels more than I got. The sauce that came with our food was given on the side in a very small cup that might have held 1/2 oz. After seeing the amount of sauce that was given, I was left feeling very put off by the fact that my boyfriend was denied a particular sauce because it was considered "too expensive" to offer but yet they did have it and would 1/2 of this mixture really break the bank if it made your customer happy?

After the "waitress" brought out our food to us and our helping of sauce to go along with our food, we never saw her for the rest of our visit. She never asked if we needed anything or offered anything. Her customer service skills were pathetic at best. I also noticed that she was dressed very unprofessionally. Wearing tattered blue jeans, flip flops, and a immodest top that showed her bra and bra straps. She looked like she was ready to go and join the people at Wal Mart.

There were other people in the dining room. I get the impression that they were possibly the owners since they were horribly shocked that a group of perspective customers walked in, looked at their menu, and promptly walked out, which is what we should have done. The cooked walked out with a dirty shirt and there was a group of four adolescent boys that were likely connected to the employees/owners that made the atmosphere less than desirable.

The food itself tasted fine, however the portion size and the service was AWFUL!!!!! Nothing stood out to me as being extraordinary. We both left the restaurant feeling unsatisfied, cheated, and quite frankly pissed off. We ended up going next door to Senor Sam's and managed to get twice as much food for half the price of what we got at Sauce.

Needless to say, we will not EVER be back. All I see is bankruptcy in their future. They are not concerned with making their customers happy and loyal, just their pocketbook fatter.
