Sad day in Homestead, our once go-to date night joint has just gone through another transformation for the worst. Not sure if it will survive the post-pandemic era. We ordered 1- meatball appetizer 2- Chicken Alfredos and 4- well whisky and cokes. The drinks before were 3 bucks now are 6. All together we paid 81.00 + 10.00 tip. my jaw dropped when I saw the bill and realized each plate of that greasy fettuccine alfredo was 20.00 a pop. I wasn't alone in my disbelief as another couple on my left complained about their bill and a guy on our right was complaining about his fried calamari not being up to par. Going to be hard to stay open when the only affordable option is pizza and your competition are places like Son of a Pizza who still have the best pizza in town and your well drinks are no longer 2 for 1 but 6.00 a pop when you can go across the yard at Chili's you can get 5.00 Jack Daniel and cokes. If you haven't been to Portofino's in a while, keep the good memories and don't ruin them with their current situation. :(
PERSONAL MESSAGE TO MANAGER
Check my review it's on point. You can see that chicken fettuccine is disgusting not even half the standard it used to be back in the day and I'm not even talking 10 years I'm talking about 2 years ago. The two-for-one drink specials brought people in even though you and the past manager disagree, happy hour's not going to cut it when all your competitions have all-night drink specials so you going to lose those customers. Changing the pour changes the drink not sure why you guys don't understand, I don't drink to get dunk so changing a 1oz pour to a 2-3 oz pour isn't going to make me happy, it tastes like crap, I if I wanted my throat to burn I would drink straight up and neat. This is homestead not Miami, 80% of your customers work in the city, get out at 5 and sit an 1 1/2 hours in traffic to get home and clean up. Who's going to be able to benefit from your happy hour. Yeah, you make good pizza but you can get good pizza at around three other places in the neighborhood so hopefully, you take this advice I don't believe you're going to make it if you continue running the establishment this way. Three years ago the place was humming, business was good and then new management started making changes improving where improvements weren't necessary. Never bothering asking for feedback from your diehard customers. This trend continued with the last guy and now you.
