This is the dirtiest place I have ever encountered. There was food under the counters that had been there for obvious months and months next to pots and pans you could see complete filth. I was no shocked to see my utensils had barely been cleaned and there was 'stuff' on my plate completely unidentifiable. I could not bring myself to eat the food in these conditions. GROSS. CLEAN YOUR FACILITY and stop cooking in the hopes that bacteria dies at a specific temp. How many ppl have got sick from this place???

I have always had good experiences with Jackson Coney Island before but tonight I went in with my mother around 9:00pm. The place was dead but when we sat down we were informed the fryers were shut off for the night, so we couldn't order anything fried. At the coney island, no fries, no onion rings which is the main reason we go. So I ordered an egg salad sandwich and a a polish coney dog. After the waitress took our order she came back and told me there was no egg salad left. Ok, fine. So I get my polish dog and it was just a regular hot dog, not kielbasa. I finally flagged down the waitress and she asked me to bite into it so she could see the inside. Well, she wasn't sure so she went to ask the cook. He had an attitude and said "I wouldn't give it to you if it weren't a polish dog, they sausages look alike, you should be able to taste the difference." Well, I didn't and I know kielbasa has a distinct taste. Then the waitress brought a raw kielbasa out to show me. He then announced he was going out for a cigarette.

Ok, I readily admit that nostalgia fuels this review. As a little kid, we made a big adventure of dinner and trains.....pick up a white box full of coney dogs, take them over to the train station, and picnic while watching the people and the trains. I'm now 58 and drove back to Jackson, my hometown, for a class reunion. First place I went was Jackson Coney Island for 2-all the way to go. As I opened the door to leave, a train was rolling in. It doesn't get much better than that.

I grew up in Jackson and moved to Florida in 1980. Every time I go back, my first stop is here. Yes its old, but the coney's are the best. There is nothing dirty about the place and the people are the best. This is Jackson at its best.

I have not lived in Jackson since "66, but every trip back, i go to the Jackson Coney Island. First time I went was mid 50's, as a kid. Their tiny restaurant is GREAT ... a big menu for a tiny place, and the Coney's are equally great. Is it clean and shiny and modern like McDonald's or Applebee's? Hell no ... this is a tiny place on Jackson's old skid row ... but the tabletops are covered in very clean and cleanable stainless steel ... and the waitress, the cook, and the helper lady were extraordinarily pleasant and efficient. the place was crowded. I was there on 10/18/09.

I WENT TO JACKSON CONEY ISLAND A FEW TIMES. BUT THE LAST TIME I WAS IN THERE, THE WORKERS WERE RUDE, THE FOOD WAS NASTY. I WOULDN'T FEED IT TO MY DOGS. ALSO THE RESTAURANT NEEDS TO BE BE CLEAN FROM CEILING TO THE FLOORS.
