Completely over priced. Food was mediocre at best. Black bear Lodge is trying to be something they're not. I ordered the prime rib sandwich. My first red flag should have been when the waitress never asked ,e how I wanted my steak. Her response was they don't do that for the prime rib sandwich. When my food came it was laying on a pan opened faced ciabatta roll. The prime rib was approximately 1/4 inch thick, gray in color and no life left. My sister from the next table could see it grayand quite frankly, was completely over cooked. When I tried cutting into it it was very difficult and the top half of the roll went flying. In addition to it being completely over cooked the the consistency of shoe leather, it also had no flavor. It took the waitress quite a while to return to our table after delivering our orders, therefore, after explaining to our waitress what was wrong and I needed to send it back, I chose not to re-order anything else. It simply would have taken to Long and quite frankly from the nibbles that was offered to me, the food was lacking in multiple areas.
There are reputable restaurants in the twin cities with much better food, lower prices and nice ambiance. Black Bear Lodge needs to focus on getting a quality product out to their customers and stop trying to be a higher quality eating establishment which they can't compete with at this time. Do not waste your time or money at Black Bear. It is definitely not worth it.
