Up to our last visit to the Northwoods Inne, this has been our favorite restaurant in the area. We bring people there anytime we have people in from out of town. We make regular trips there with local friends as well. We love their food. Their prime rib is our favorite. Their onion rings are amazing. I have nothing but good things to say about their food. This past Friday evening we went there with another couple to celebrate a birthday (as we typically do) and the food was great. But as I was finishing my salad I found a quite substantial piece of plastic wrap in there. I'm not sure what would have happened if I had actually tried to eat it. I gave my salad plate to our waitress and showed her the plastic. She in turn handed it over to the owner, Bob Komischke, and he took it into the kitchen. And that my friends was the last we heard of it. Bob never approached us with an apology and he never at any point acknowledged the problem at all. We received nothing outside some extras in my salad. So disappointed.

$40 for a tiny lobster tail with velveta au gratin garbage and a tiny salad!

Absolutely loved this place, the food selection was diverse and the taste/quality exceptional. The walleye and ribs served are much better than the higher end restaurants in the area and as a bonus, you trully feel at home when dining here.
