The Tea Garden is very hit or miss. When they hit, they knock it out of the park. When they miss they fail epically. There is really no middle ground.
When things are right:
Tea garden services all the Chinese dishes you are familiar with from every other Chinese restaurant you have ever visited. That said do not expect the same Chinese food you have had every ware else. The Tea Graden's flavors are unique. Their recopies are close enough to what you are used to that the dishes are recognizable but with their own wonderful twist.
Highly recommended are the General's Chicken, Chicken with Cashew Nuts, and the Hot and Sour Soup. When Tea Garden gets these right they are delicious and unique experiences. I will say that the Hot and Sour Soup could be more sour and hotter, I usually get it fir home and add a little saracha and rice vinegar. To my pallet everything at the Tea Garden needs salt, but to my pallet everything needs salt.
Give them a try. If they disappoint you give then a couple more chances. When they get it right it is worth the effort.

After moving to KY, this is one of the places I miss the most. Wonderful food!!!!! My Dad went to China and he says this is the closest you will find. A must go to!
