The soup tasted like canned soup. The fried shrimp were laced with heavy batter and dripping with grease. Slow service. The view was the best part of the place. We are new to the area and will never go back to this place that we heard used to be good.

We are regular customers; always ordering stone crabs. The food is delicious, service friendly, restaurant clean and prices reasonable. We have brought many friends from Florida, West Virginia, Maryland, Massachusetts , Alabama, even Denmark. Everyone wants to return. Charlie's is great!

We visited Charlie's last weekend and it was terrible at best. We asked the waitress how much crab was in the crab cakes and she indicated 75%. So I ordered the seafood platter which came with a crab cake. When the meal came all items glimmered in grease and the crab cake looked like a pasture pie and one could not tell if it even contained crab. We also ordered appetizers that were served with what the kitchen wanted one to think were yeast rolls, they were prepackaged rolls brushed with butter,but were drier than the napkin I spit the crab cake in. Do yourself a favor, go to KFC instead of Charlie's.

I had the fried fish and my wife had the shrimp, both were soggy and tasteless. Frozen food? Most definitely. The sides were the same, unseasoned and served in cafeteria plastic bowls. I've had better at Golden Coral for less $$.

1979 was when I moved to Crysta; River to Live near my grandparents. My first visit to Charlies was with them and it was a memorable experience with the food and the service. It was a much smaller place than today. I have visited trough out the years and still find it one of my most memorable experiences.
