So I met a friend at Martins for thd opening of thd new downstairs bar…
Yes it was half the size by
Brighter and more current design..
We sat at the bar… had our normal drinks
But after 3 we decided the drinks were not up to par…
We watched them pour… but you never really tasted the alcohol…
We were there … had dinner
The napkins were paper… no cloth
Shame! For an upscale steak house
My shrimp were good… but the tarter sauce too dill pickle… hush puppies were very bland
The coleslaw was ok!
My friend had prime rib
Said it was wonderful!!
But she ordered soup and it wasn’t brought out prior to the meal so it canceled…
Had a great martini for dessert
All in all
It will be a while before we go back…
120$$ way too much for the food and service
Yes they were busy
No excuse!!

I have eaten at Martin's many times over the last 20 years or so and I nor my family have ever had anything less than perfect service and delicious food including the Seafood! My brother visited from out of State and I took him there and he said it was some of the best Seafood he has ever had! Please dont listen to these bad reviews. It is rustic and that what everyone loves about it... very comfortable and great food! The Prome Rib is great also...never had a bad one! And I agree with the other gentleman...if you're sick you should have stayed home dont blame it on this great restaurant! I will be eating dinner there tomorrow night as a matter of fact and plan to enjoy every bite!!

Everyone knows this is a prime rib place.....and they do that well, I would say better than anyone local, I like to get the king to go and split with my wife.

the management is rude and the food is disgusting. don't waste your time or money.

On my husbands birthday, we arrived (obviously) too late for dinner. It was a weeknight, and nine pm. Granted we respect your business hours, and understand if you allow two more in; it prolongs staff departure.

The issue wasn't that we were turned away due to the late hour, it was the manner in which this was declared to us. The (owner??) I assume he is as we are local and he is always there, met us at the door and very sternly stated "We are closed folks". No expression albeit the stern look, just simply 'we are closed'.

Had he stated "I'm sorry folks, but we are closed", or "I apologize but we close at 9, please come again"; would have made a big difference. If I were a newbie, or a tourist I would never return! But we blew him off and went to Snak Jacks who happily accommodated us!

We eat there usually once per week, refer a lot of visitors there; and take a lot of friends there. Friends were in town last week, and this is where I took them. The food was good, and our server was great! The guff with him is how he spoke to us. I will continue to eat there, but feel customer service on his part needs honing. I work in a hospital, and would NEVER consider using that tone, or offer no apology for something I must adhere to!! Rules are rules, but making a customer not feel valued is another issue! All other employees are SUPER accommodating, and that is the determining factor in my returning and still referring guests to them. Some patientsfamily live af far as Titusville, yet have made the trek upon my recommendation.

Just saying be a little softer with your guests, even if you are annoyed! :)

My wife and I ate at your restaurant the evening of 4 Feb 2014, and it was among the worst seafood we have ever tried to eat. I had you seafood platter which was overpriced (based on quality) and the only thing on it that was fried to perfection as your menu and waitress stated, was the fried clams. The fish was over breaded and not quite done. The oyster definitely was not done and served on the bottom of the latter where they became completely soggy. Our check was close to fifty dollars including tip. This was for food worth about twenty bucks, as stated above, based on the quality. I know this won’t mean much to you as we are from Charlotte, NC, but I will assure you when we return to Flagler Beach, FL., we will not eat at your establishment again, nor will we recommend you to anyone. Cannot give you a star rating, because you don't have any minus ratings. Since you will not accept
a minus rating, you reluctantly get one star.

My family and I came here for the 1st time in 2012 on vacation and really liked it so we decided to come back this year on vacation.
Well I ordered the garlic chicken pasta which tasted good but halfway through my meal I seen something under a noodle which turned out to be a glass marble! I got the waitress and she took my meal back to the kitchen. She then quickly came back to tell me the cook said there was no way it could of gotten in there pretty much implying that I might have done it. As I told them I do NOT just carry glass marbles in my pockets to throw into my dinner at random places we got the manager. He also played the same "we don't know it really got there" card. I told him implying I put it in there was absurd and he said he was not implying it and something about his brother being the cook or whatever and "gets a little hot".
Finally he came back and said he would take it off my bill but it was handled very unprofessionally and needless to say no one from my family will be back.

i guess after reading that last review I wonder why anyone would go to any restaurant not feeling well or sick... duh!

I've been to this restaurant a number of times over the years and one of my sons liking the place so well... in going to Fla from Indiana, goes at least twice a week while visiting the area!

Yes, the place is rustic and has a bit of resort type feel... not a 5 stars type place with a white table cloth..., stay home if you want that! The people there are very friendly with lines of individuals waiting to get in at most times.... and, yup, the food is very good....! What else would a person want in a sea food / steak type restaurant? Try it you'll like it,,.. hundreds have for many many years!

OUR EXPERIENCE STARTED WHEN WE WERE HANDED MENUS UPON SEATING. WE MADE UP OUR MINDS, ONLY TO HAVE THE LUNCH MENUS SNATCHED OUT OF OUR HANDS AND TOLD "LUNCH IS OVER!". IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT MY HUSBAND WAS VERY ILL WITH GASTROENTERITIS, AS HE SPENT MOST OF OUR TIME THERE IN THE BATHROOM AND COULD NOT EAT ANYTHING BUT A FEW OF MY FRIES. MYSELF AND THE OTHER MEMBER OF OUR PARTY WERE JUST RECOVERING FROM THE SAME GI VIRUS, SO WE ONLY ORDERED ONE MEAL, AND DIDN'T COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SHARING CHARGE. THE STEAK WE WERE SERVED WAS TOO RARE AND TOUGH, BUT WE SAID NOTHING. AFTER WE HAD PAID, MY HUSBAND COMPLAINED THAT HIS COLA HAD NO FLAVOR(WHICH I CONFIRMED), SO HE GAVE IT TO THE SERVER ONLY TO HAVE THE OWNER BELT ACROSS OTHERS IN THE RESTAURANT "I'VE BEEN DRINKING THIS ALL DAY"!! I RESPONDED "I BARTENDED FOR MANY YEARS INCLUDING DISNEY, I THINK I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE...GO AHEAD AND RETASTE IT YOURSELF". THEN HE MADE A NASTY QUIP ABOUT THE WAITRESS REALLY HAVING TO "WORK HARD" FOR HER 25% TIP, AND YES... I FELT OBLIGED TO SAY YES SHE DOES WORK HARD WITH THE EMPHASIS ON SHE. TO BE FAIR, THE POOR GIRL GAVE US $3 OF HER OWN MONEY BACK TO US TO DIFFUSE THE SITUATION, WHICH I WOULD HAVE GLADLY RETURNED TO HER HAD THE PROPRIETOR NOT MADE AN EMBARASSMENT OF HIMSELF. A PLACE LIKE THIS NEEDS ALL THE HOSPITALITY IT CAN MUSTER, AND THE "GRAND MASTER" IS DOING HIS POCKETBOOK A GRAVE DISSERVICE. A SHORT WHILE LATER A LOCAL REALTOR TOLD US THEIR OVERALL REPUTATION IN THE AREA WAS NOT THE BEST. I WILL TAKE HEED AND NEVER SPEND MY HARDEARNED MILITARY DOLLARS IN THIS DUMP AGAIN. PERHAPS THE OWNER SHOULD REESTABLISH HIMSELF IN NJ WHERE HIS MOUTH AND ATTITUDE WOULD BE MORE IN KEEPING WITH THE LOCAL FLAVOR.
STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS !!!

I've been eating at Martin's for a year and a half...at least once a month. I've never had a bad meal and the service has always been superior to my hometown restaurants in Annapolis, MD. You can't beat the prices! I don't know how they make any money except that the place is always full. The salads are always cold and the steaks are always cooked just right. I'm sorry the Brits had a bad time, but it appears they may have arrived with a bit of an attitude. Try Martins. Keep an open mind and you won't be disapointed. If there is a downside, it's the atmosphere....but if you consider it 'old Florida', the atmosphere is just right!!
