With reservations for 7:30 ,dinner was finally served almost two hours later. The prime rib dinners were ordered a couple of days prior to the visit and the two ordered medim well , were more rare than the one medium rare. ( they ate the outer half without complaint ) . The bread that we waited over 90 minutes to receive was either slightly stale or reheated. My son blistered his finger when he touched the hot plate housing his potato. Two other tables within ear shot were also complaining about the tardiness.
The waitress, manager and owner arrived when we were finished and apologized to each table. The sad thing is that the waitress returned to say that she had removed the automatic 20% TIP ( acronym for To Insure Promptness ) even though she had not been responsible. ( we of course gave her the gratuity ) My suggestion if anyone dare chance a meal there is : make early reservations or ask for the next day's breakfast menu
before you order dinner as the breakfast will probably arrive first !
There were six of us and we almost decided to leave without eating. Sorry , but in all my life this is the first time that I have registered a complaint .

We've been enjoying the Rusty Duck for several years and always have very good meal. We drive 45 minutes from The Villages when we want that special dinner, something different, bringing new people each time. High recommend it!!

We had diner last evening at the Rusty Duck on recommendations by friends. Horrible, horrible, horrible. Waited 1 and 1/2 hours to get our meal. Pre ordered prime rib was 2/3 fat and tasteless, the seafood bisque thick, salty, unappetizing. Will never go here again, and advise anyone considering it to find another dining spot.

Heard about this restaurant last year and had been looking forward to having dinner here. Don't let the outside fool you!!!!!! What is behind the door is a truly dining experience. Our reservation was for 7PM and we finished our dinner at 9:30PM. We got to enjoy each course in a relaxed atmosphere with time between to digest our food without being rushed. Three in the group had prime rib, one had a shrimp entree and I had Duck Emily. Amazing! Amazing!

We have dined here many, many times. It has always been excellent. If you like fine dining where the dress code is clothing and the decor is early whatever, you will love this place.
Price performance is outstanding. Bring your own wine, they dont have a liquor license.

Great Reataurant with extremely good food and food is personally prepared at reasonable prices. The decor is not significant, but if ambiance is not a priority, you have to go in any event.

You would never know from the outside what a great meal you're going to get. The building looks like a small house that's been converted to a restaurant that could use some serious remodeling. Nevertheless, the service and food were wonderful. Sure the waitress had tattoos on her arm but the restaurant was very clean and the menu was very upscale. My prime rib was at least 3" thick (provided two more meals for us from the take home) and was done as I requested. One of of dining companions had the Au hi Tuna and she also took a very large portion home. We are returning in May with two couples who have never been there and another couple who have been to the Rusty Duck on two other occasions and loved it. A bit of a drive from The Villages but great to be able to make a reservation during the Snow Bird Season and not have to wait 2 hours to get a table. Side note: No liquor license so it's a bring your own wine; they open and serve for a nominal corking fee.

Calling for reservations for 7:30 thought I was set. We made sure we pre-ordered one prime rib. The night before our dining experience we were called at just before 10 pm. to confirm our reservations. I thought this was a little late to be calling people.
We arrived just before 7:30 and had to wait to be seated till 7:50. The waiting staff acted like a Waffle house - not fine dining at all. The place was loud and they had a party in the back that was extremely loud - cackling hens and hollering that disturb my party.
Cooks or dishwashers paraded around in tank top shirts and gym shorts through the place. The food was good especially the clam chowder and rolls. The main course took forever to get there and it was tough. Biggest piece of prime rib I have ever had but it was tough and on the cool side. Plates could have been warmed.
My guest had the duck that was cooked beyond medium rare that the waitress new was the way it should be served and was served in way to much sauce.
The menu in my opinion had way too many choices that must cause the chef to run like crazy and never get the chance to perform well. As with most restaurants that try and serve too many things instead of fewer choices done better - this place falls in the category of not fine dining. I most likely will not be returning for fine dining that is for sure.
