The dining experience at the Ox Yolk Inn is a delightful journey through traditional Amana Colonies cuisine. I have frequented this establishment over the years, drawn in by the charming German family-style offerings. On a recent visit for appetizers and drinks at the Hotel Millwright, we savored cheese curds, a flavorful Jager Burger, and a delectable seafood chowder. The service, led by our cheerful waitress Susie, was impeccable, adding to the overall enjoyment of the meal.

I gave this place another try, but it didn't disappoint me. Jaeger schnitzel was so-so with what seemed like canned gravy with about three mushroom halves in it. Beans were strictly out of a can.
we were not offered anything but mashed (yuck) potatoes only to find out later that we could have had fried potatoes. What happened to German potato salad, pickled beets and the other things that used to go along with family style. Service was okay. Seems like prices have gone up and quality and quality have gone down, like so many places. This is the absolute last time I waste my time and money here and I have been coming to the Colonies for at least 45 years.
