Started eating at Gregs in 1967 recently got a large Gregs Special 22.15 garden salad 8.05 30.10 was charged 37.62. The dressing top came off in the bag lost everything in the bag except the salad. My last time cant afford their tax

I used to order once or twice a month. The last two were burned with no flavor. Never again.

Love this Pizza 🍕

Ordered a well done cheese pizza with extra sauce. I never had to request extra sauce when Mike was there. When I opened the box at home neither request had been met. I called them and my next pizza would be free. Several weeks later I called with the same request for extra sauce and cooked well done using the freebie from the other foulup. Unfortunately, little sauce but baked satisfactorily. It's certainly not the Greg's I once knew. Too expensive with the inconsistencies.

Some of the worst spaghetti & meatballs I have ever eaten from Greg's. I have been getting spaghetti there for yrs. Has been getting worse the last several times I have gotten it. Would like to have some spaghetti & meatballs like Mike used to make.

Stayed in Johnson City over the weekend and ordered pizza from Greg's for first time. It was excellent! Picked it up on time and it was hot out of the oven. The wife and I only like a few pizza restaurants and Greg's has been added to the list.

Growing up ib the Tri Cities, Greg's Pizza was the food of choice for anything from date night to family night. Their dough is hand tossed and spun, giving it a texture that machines just cannot give pizza. I have never been disappointed with anything I've ordered. In my 25 years of existence, I have tried everything on the menu and woukd highly recommend it to anyone in the area.

Although Greg's Pizza has changed ownership, the food has not changed a bit. Their pizzas are as good now as they were 20 years ago. They are known for their heavy pizzas and extra cheese which is delicious. The new owner is always in the store to greet customers and introduce himself. This shows that he really cares about his customers and wants to become familiar with the regulars. The other staff members are always willing to day hi and smile no matter how busy they are.

I have been going to Greg's since I was a kid and it has not changed one bit. The service is great and everyone is so friendly. The food is so great. The pizzas are always hot and the sandwiches are always toasty! Great great way to spend your money.

Been buying Greg's pizza for over 20 years. I have loved their food from day one. However I noticed a marked drop in quality of their spaghetti a little over a year ago. The recipe was completely changed and when I commented on it I was told that their recipe had not changed in decades, which I know to not be true, especially after reading the other reviews that have been coming out since. Now I have found out that the store as changed management and that explains a great deal.
The pizzas are still great, though some say they have noticed a reduction in the amount of toppings on some pizzas. I will still buy pizzas there, but I have stopped buy their spaghetti due to it's unpalatable flavor.

I wish this this was a good review for Gregg's Pizza in Johnson City but it isn't. I have eaten Gregg's pizza's for over 32 years and things have changed for the worse. First, don't order from them after 4 pm on Saturday's. It seems they are too busy after 4:00pm to care about their customers in general.

I placed a Pizza order at 5:15 pm on Saturday, 10/25/2014 and was told it would be 45 minutes to pick it up. OK, 45 minutes is a long time to wait, but it was the best pizza in Johnson City for a long time and so I ran around Johnson City for the prescribed 45 minutes. I arrived at 6:00pm and pick up my two pizza at a cost of $34 dollars. OK, a little pricy, but it used to be well worth it.

As I was walking out the door, the boxes seemed a little cooler then normal. When I made it to my car, I opened the boxes and found to cool pizza's. One looked like it had been used for a frizbie or maybe a top. The slices were all jumbled up and the cheese had ran down all over the box bottom. I started to take them both back into them, but decided since it could take another 45 minute wait for another, I went on home.

On the way home, I called them back and asked to speak with the manger. The person answering the telephone told me both the owner and manager was there but had no time to speak with me just then. I was told when someone had time, someone would call me back. I waited about 15 minutes and called them back. Same person answered the telephone again, so I asked if he had delivered the message. He told me he had. I asked again if someone was going to call me back and again, was told someone would call when time was available. I told the telephone operator that if the owners/manager didn't begin taking a little more interest in their customers, they wouldn't have to worry about being too busy on Saturday's anymore. The telephone operator was very apologetic but in the end, I never received a call back from anyone and my family and I ripped up the bottom of the box tearing out the cold pizza, microwaved it, and went on. Oh, buy they way, cardboard doesn't taste that well.

In summary, I hate what has happened to Gregg's pizza. In the last few months, I have noticed a significant change in the quality I had came to expect and that Gregg's was known for. I don't know when I will ever give them another try. There are lots of Pizza places in Johnson City. I will now spend my hard earned money elsewhere and hopefully find a Pizza that is as good as Gregg's used to be. I doubt I will find one that was as good as Gregg's once was, but at least it may be hot and not stuck to the box when I get home.

I have eaten at Gregg's pizza all my life and always loved it. The past year something was not right with the pizzas. I don't know what, maybe inferior ingredients but it tasted pretty much like Rocky's pizza in Jonesboro. BUT TONITE WE GOT A PIZZA FROM GREGGS AND IT WAS DELICIOUS. Back to the way Gregg's pizza is supposed to be. KEEP IT UP GREGGS.

Went to greg's a few days ago . Ordered a large with everything . They have gone up on prices and went skimpy on toppings and very little sauce . It was $30 . Use to love greg's , will never go back .

My family has eatne ate Greg's since it opened and new mike on a first name basis. Since he sold I'm so sad to say its not even close the only thing that's the same is the name. The owner is rude employees even more rude. I actually new two employees that left when it was sold because they didn't even want to be associated with it. I hate to say all this but hopefully they will see and change things back.

I have purchased Greg's pizza for over 35 years! I have consistently received GREAT pizza and POLITE service. I order in advance and 10 times out of 10 have walked in to get my pizza and found it to be ready on time. I expect to continue to do so. My suggestion is that you don't miss out on this local pizza experience.

review_stars 10/26/2013 - J M Fender
apparently the new own have elected to change the recipes and skimp on ingredients hoping they can survive on the Greg's name. it won't last long. have been a fan of the original Greg's Pizza for years - after getting the order today, no thanks. will not be back.

LOVE the pizza! been eating Greg's since the early 70's and seriously, nothing compares to it.

but the service is definitely LACKING! the guys act like they don't want to be there. they huff around, are short when you ask them anything, look at you in disgust and act like it's killing them to take the order, etc. seriously bad service and the time will come when that ruins the business for them.

Ordered large pizza with extra sauce. Pizza came with less sauce than ever. unable to eat the expensive thing. Feed it to the dog and he would not eat it either. What has happened to greg's.

review_stars 03/01/2013 - Tired O. Waiting
If you don't care to wait for an hour, it is good and greasy. You need to know they can't tell time because they do not know what 20 minutes truly is. Maybe Greg's should supply their emoloyees with watches or maybe TIME training. Regardless it is good, but the service lacks bad..

Since change in ownership the quality and service has completely gone. Will not go there again.

Last night I ordered a pizza from Greg's in Johnson City, was told 20-25 mins to pick up. We were there 28 mins later. My husband went in, paid the woman at the counter (we were parked in front of the big window facing the counter), then he waited. My son decided after 25 more mins (we are now at 53 mins after placing the order) to go inside and ask for our pizza (husband was still sitting in a chair in front of the counter). The man at the counter immediately got the pizza and handed it to my son. Now of course husband was upset, he said (rather loudly) "I've been sitting here for 30 mins waiting and my pizza was there the whole time???". Husband & son came out and got into the car....now is when this gets interesting.....the man at the counter came OUTSIDE looking for my husband. I thought he came out to apologize so my husband rolled down the window and asked "what?". The man told him one of the other guys called our name 3 times (my husband wears hearing aids). Husband said "he did not", the man said "you wanna go ask him", husband said "he's a liar", man said "you are an A**", husband gets out of the car and tells him "he better get his a** back inside" (I've only seen husband this angry one other time in 21 years of marriage).....besides the unnecessary wait time, the main problem I have is the Greg's employee should NEVER have come OUTSIDE looking for the customer UNLESS it was to apologize for the mix up/problem....what's happened to customer service? WE'LL NEVER BE BACK!!!

Tons of cheese and toppings! The everything "volcano" pizza is so heavy I could only eat 2 pieces! It is a must try in Johnson City! Forget the chain restaurant, Greg's knows what they're doing!

Eaten at Greggs for years and always been satisfied.Always consistent with their pizzas, BUT, was very displeased when charged $34 for 2 large pepperoni pizzas.Original price on their menu board was $14 for a one-topping pie.
I had them prepare both of them for the freezer, guess they charge 3 bucks more to wrap them with aluminum foil!!!

Greg's in JC has always had great pizzas , subs and spaghetti but a few months ago I called in a order for spaghetti and meatballs with a extra bread and 2 salads . I arrived at the time they told me it would be ready and picked the order up and brought it straight home about 5 minutes from Gregs . The bread was still hot but the spaghetti and meatballs were luke warm and not fit to eat . we eat the bread and salads and I called the owner and explained that the spaghetti and meatballs werent hot . He made no offer to take care of the problem so I and my family go elsewhere . Customers have lots of places to choose now its not like it used to be and I only expect to get what I pay for to be eatable !

Greg's Pizza is the best pizza ever! They have been open for years. Once you try them, you'll be hooked. They might be more expensive that the others, besided Mellow Mushroom, but it is well worth it. There are always a lot of people there picking up their order. They also have awesome spaghetti & meatballs. One order can feed a family of 4 easy. You also have to try their hot ham & cheese sandwiches. Awesome!!!!
