Suehiro(or hirosue as I like to refer to it as) is maybe the best lunch value in all of los angeles. with 3-4 daily lunch specials at only $4.20 this place cannot be beaten. go anywhere else and this lunch would easily cost you 7.50 up. Food is consistently good, meal is well rounded with rice, miso soup, veggie salad, macaroni or potato salad, solid entree such as menchi katsu, saba w/ tofu, crab croquette, and a cup of hot tea. the complainers on this site were either so obnoxious as to deserve bad service in the hope they would not return, or they are insane. everything on the lunch special is scratch-made, no frozen or otherwise pre-prepared foods. Is it the ritz? no. is it the best meal you've ever had or even the best japanese food in little tokyo? no. it is really good and affordable food with nice servers in a comfortable environment? absoluetly.
I eat here 3-4 times per week so i know what im talking about.

We visited this place during Anime Expo '08 looking for a great Japanese restaurant. We were not disappointed, every dish we ordered was great and the service, despite being heavily crammed, was speedy and courteous. We were so impressed we visited again the next day!

A great place for late night eating. The food is great and service is a little better than average; better than some places I've been to. Can be crowded so be prepared to wait 15 minutes, more or less.

Wide variety on the menu, particularly good value for simple lunch dishes like udon, yakisoba, or katsu don. Efficient service, well prepared food wtihout any notable specialties but also few disappointments.

we were looking foward to eat at this place,we ended up shaking our heads,we all agree the food,service was awful,avoid this japanese restaurant!
