i ordered my food at 6:30 p.m. & did not receive
it until 8:30 p.m. & then my fries were cold & dry,
burgers dry around the edges, hard lettuce, raw
bacon & a green tomato. Then to top it off bad
customer service over the phone.

Since my momma moved out of town I needed to find some eats so I went to this place. I didn't expect the food to taste as good as my momma's, that's just sensible. My mommas name is Ann & that womans cookin is like heaven.I grew up in Chicago with 8 brothers and sisters eating her cooking along with aunts, uncles, friends, cousins and many others who would ask my momma, Izola & auntie Johnny Mae to cook for the church and other functions.
I would liken this place to a soul food oasis in the wilderness of fast food drudgery. It's the kind of place where you don't need a menu but they have it if you're unfamiliar with soulfood.
I ate and was happy, I knew that it would be a great day. " Was the sun shining this bright when we came in ".My soul was @ ease.

I was in Milwaukee from March 3 thru March 8 and had food from your establishment on Friday 3/5/10. The food was terrible your driver charged me more than the cost of my food and they never bought me my desert. As an African American person I feel that you ripped me off not that $150 is a lot of money it is the principal. We are in the city pretty regular and I will certainly tell people of my experience with you and hopefully encourage them not to frequent your establishment.

Lazy Sunday...don't want to cook....zzzzzz! Oh yeah, wake up, it's blog time! What's with this food anyway? Ok, yes I may be orig from Mississippi, but that does NOT make me immune to this sleepy community-- where I come from, air conditioning follows you around like a personal-sized bubble-- a/c house (24 hours a day, always central), a/c car, a/c office, a/c stores & restaurants, none of this walking in the heat for miles to do anything with your day, no sir.
So this lazy Sunday we wandered to Bungalow on 14th street. They obviously have food chains around Milwaukee, and the once or twice I tried the other places but I wasn't in love, I admit.
But this location in Milwaukee is a full restaurant with many enticing-sounding soul foods, plus the BBQ selection. We've walked by when it's packed to the seams sometimes, and seems to be popular with the neighborhood-- with orange paint on the walls and packer paraphernalia all around, you can see why this community bungalow is so popular. Very dennish decor inside, we preferred the cute outside courtyard. It was slow this hot Sunday afternoon.
We drank the "arnold palmer" iced-tea/lemonade combo which was sweet and refreshing. I had Fried chicken, greens, yams, and macaroni & cheese which was really good, though tasty with the hot sauce on the table, served with homemade cornbread. Absolutely delicious and moderately priced.
