I was at Walter's Basin for dinner on Monday night, January 1st with some friends. I ordered the chicken marsala which was fabulous! The chicken was done perfectly--tender and moist--and the sauce was delicious as well. It was a generous portion and I could only eat half of it and brought the rest home. I heated it today for lunch, and it was just as good today as it was on Monday. I've never had a bad meal there. Once I had the short ribs with mashed potatoes--another excellent meal. I stay at a local B&B and this is within a mile of the Inn.

This was my second time at Walter's Basin. We were a party of 7 and everybody was extremely pleased with the entire experience. The food was amazing, fresh, prepared perfectly and the variety on the menu was broad with something for everybody. From the french fries to the seafood, salads, burgers and mac and cheese, it was all great. The drinks were also worth the money and not watered down like many restaurants. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive. The best part is that you get to eat your meal while you look out onto beautiful Squam Lake through the huge row of windows in the dinning room. We saw our first loon of the season. This has moved up to the top of our list of favorite restaurants and we even have to drive over an hour to get there.
