Lasagne was partially burned. Dry beyond belief. I have no idea why they couldn't spare more than a tablespoon of sauce. I had to remind the waitress that the meal comes with tea. Then, I had to wait 5 minutes for her find a cup. Waste of money.

Enjoy the food each time I've been, particularly corned beef hash, eggs, and grits. The environment and ambiance are pleasant, conducive to comfort and relaxation. Staff is friendly and gracious. Portions are generous. Since being introduced to Holiday a year ago, I've been quite pleased to take guests when they come to visit. I hope they're open on Sundays, which is the reason I'm on this page right now!

My mom & I eat at the Holiday at least twice a week whenever I am in town. I live 900 miles away and visit regularly. I really like the fried flounder filet. It's always a generous portion and I have never gotten any that didn't taste fresh and cooked just right. My mom usually orders the chicken salad. The prices are very reasonable & we receive good service. I have no idea what the other 2 reviewers are whining about, but we have never experienced anything like they describe. The Holiday is one of the very few older Rockingham restaurants still in business. If you prefer chain outfits with their cookie-cutter food, by all means go eat there. We like the Holiday, and would really hate to see it close. From the looks of their parking lot, I don't think that's about to happen. They make a really good BLT, too. I'm about to go eat there AGAIN in the next 15 minutes!! I have to say again, that the prices are very reasonable. Less than pretty much any of the other local eating places. Oh yeah, the chopped pork BBQ is tasty too! Thanks to the Holiday for being a decent, reasonably priced, traditional style family restaurant, located right here in Rockingham!

The best breakfast anywhere. Their fried fish is great. Service excellent. I recommend eating here often.

Every time we drove past here, the car parking lot was always full of cars. It intrigued me enough to want to stop and try it.

The server upset my daughter by saying she could only order off the part of the menu that said Sunday, then when I asked about what the difference was, the server said it was the vegetables available. It really had nothing to do with the available entrees. I ordered the Chicken with Pastry, which was the special for Sunday. They brought me out a bowl full of mushy, tasteless noodles with 2 small pieces of chicken in it. I asked the server about it and told her this wasn't what I ordered. I ordered Chicken with Pastry. Pastry should have a flaky crust like a chicken pot pie. She said that is their Chicken with Pastry. I told her I didn't want it and it was nasty. She wanted to know what else I wanted and I had to ask for a menu since it wasn't offered. I asked for the fried fish. It was okay, but was in desperate need of seasoning, plus I had to ask for tater sauce since they brought just over a teaspoon with the fish.

My daughter's (instant) mashed potatoes, had a little brown gravy on it and she said it tasted burnt. She scraped it off. The tomatoes on my son-in-law's BLT were very soft and watery. The "toast" for his sandwich was soggy bread. Needless to say, all he ate from it was the bacon. The fries were acceptable but like everything else, needed salt.

While we were waiting for our food, I glanced around the restaurant and noticed the blades on the fans above the tables were covered in dust. Since they weren't running in the 85 degree weather, it was very visible. We will NOT be going back again. It was very disappointing.

If you like calves liver completely over done, chicken salad with 1" bones, hard brown and serve rolls, stewed potatoes that are mostly liquid then this is the place you should eat. Also, anybody should know onions with liver should be cooked, not sprinkled raw on top. Never will eat here again.

This is a great family restaurant. the food is always excellent, moderately priced, attentive staff!
People come from several counties away to eat at the Holiday - I live 20 miles away and go there at least 3 times per week.
You will not be disappointed!
