review_stars 01/04/2013 - need to update website
Wish someone would update the website. Everything that is posted is old. Pictures of bands are old.
I was at the Halloween party which was tons of fun and the band kicked -ss. Also been there a few times after wards. That place was rocking. Why not post anything about those times? No New Years party pictures??
Come on. Someone needs to stay on top of this.

I love this bar!!!
The staff is very friendly. This old place has come a long way. Those of you that might have had a bad experience must've been having some personal issues before you even got there.
Their outside patio with the fireplace is such a nice atmosphere on these cold evenings. The patio was so much fun during the summer when you were able to play bean bag toss, listen to music or watch a sporting event on the flat screen TV.
Everything always deserves a second chance. Those that did not enjoy themselves really should try it again.
Maybe I'll even see you there.
Keep up the good work guys.. You have come a very long way

Im guessing the second use is an owner. I encourage anyone to never and I never attend this dive. This is the trashiest & nastiest bar I have ever been too. Not only did i receive raw meat, but people were having sex right outside the bar and no one did anything to stop them. They served numerous amounts of underage kids during my once and only visit. One of the bartenders was trashed & I witnessed her doing shot after shot right in front of me. A number of the people there were then talking with what I presumed to be the owners about how every weekend they stay there to 4:00 being served when clearly it is a state law that every bar is shut down at at 2:00 am. This place needs to be shut down. I will be on the phone with the local media monday morning in hopes of trying to insure this. I attempted to tell one of the owners, but he said that he was a big-shot constable and that he was above the law.

Well well, indeed, I understand your defense of somewhere near and dear. Maybe, due to your comments and concerns I may try it again. I have to take issue with a few comments here though, Much as it may not be a Golden Tee machine maybe it is a Grand Turismo machine, there is a wall mounted video machine there and that is to what I was referring. Also the Band was 9919 it was saturday April 17th. I may have been wrong about the bouncer (meaning doorman instead) still it was not a pleasant experience for me and I related it here. I do also take issue with those of you that infer that I drank too much and that I was not at this establishment etc. I was with the band. Anyway, I would like to go to spaghetti night and change my opinion. I would like to be able to to do so. I will repost at that time. Thanks for you help in hopefully changing my opinion.

It's pretty clear to anyone who has visited the Barto that Scott either A) has an axe to grind, or B) should worry about his own alcohol consumption as he has no clue where he was...Bouncer? Scott is correct that there are bikers that come in..A few months ago the Barto was one of the stops on a huge "rolling thunder" fundraiser and had more than a hundred bikers stop in...They are, without a doubt some of the nicest and most charitable people you will ever meet...Quite funny too...

IN THE BARTO HOTELS DEFENSE..
1. THERE IS NOT ANY GOLDEN T MACHINE INN THIS ESTABLISHMENT
2. THERE HAVE BEEN NO BANDS THIS SUMMER
3. THERE ARE 4 BARTENDEDRS.. DOT, LISA, SUSIE, N ANTHONY.. NONE THAT CAN BE CONSIDERED MOM N POP BARTENDERS.
4. THEY HAVE NO BOUNCERS AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT..

THIS HOTEL IS A RESPECTABLE COUNTRY BAR.. SET BACK ON AN OFF STREET ROAD.. THAT DEDICATES ITSELF AND GOOD SERVICE TO ITS CUSTOMERS.. CONSIDERS EVERYONE WHO WALKS IN THE DOOR A FRIEND. THEY WOULD NEVER ALLOW THE CONDUCT THAT YOU SPOKE OF.. WHERE EVER YOU WERE "SCOTT" I AM SOORY TO HEAR YOU HAD A BAD EXPERIECE.. BUT I DOUBT YOU WROTE YOUR REVIEW T=FOR THE BARTO HOTEL I FREQUENT DAILY..

I don't know if the food is any good. I went to this establishment (I use the term lightly) and was minding my own business when a loser there (total dreadnaught even looked nasty) wanted to fight me because I had the gaul to look in his direction at the the GT machine. I was trying to see if it was a Golden Tee machine. I look over again (2nd or 3rd) time and he now obviously is locked in and wants to fight me. In oder to defuse the situation I walked over and said, "Oh it's a golden Tee machine." Jerkoff (the dreadnaught) now says, yeah its a golden tee machine!" To his friends credit, a Pagan motorcycle colors wearing guy told dreadnaught to shut the F up and proceeded to make him leave. I accidently knocked over a stool trying to remove myself too, and the Pagan guy (who was actually very nice) tripped a bit over it, I apologized and he says, thats ok. Then he is shoving his assinine "friend" out the door as he is calling me a fat F etc. Now here is my problem with this whole situation: One if Grammy and grampy (the only people I saw serving drinks) are going to serve alcohol, then they are culpable for what happens in their (again I use the term lightly establishment) their Bouncer? was more concerned with collecting money for door prizes and reading the results than protecting anyone. If you want to get knifed, be my guest and dine there. I won't set foot in there again without a gun! I was there to see the band. I can see them somewhere else, hell it would be more comfortable and enjoyable to see them in my own living room, which is about what it is like watching a band in that hole.
I have to let you know that I have attended more than 100 live concerts in my life and worked live sound for over 20 years in places from Sweeneys to The Velvet Lounge, to the Cabarets (back in the day) and never, I mean never have I felt so unprotected in an establishment. My best advice stay away, far away!
