Phoenix Dragon is the authority on Dim Sum in Providence from 9am to 3pm daily, then changes to a conventional Chinese restaurant in the evening. The open dining room is simply decorated, but the menu is diverse and Phoenix Dragon is a popular take out restaurant.

Every Time I walk into Pheonix Dragon I am greeted by my first name and with a smile!!! I normally tour providence for sushi and a wide range of japanese and chinese dishes but no one is more consistent, better priced, or has as great of quality food as Pheonix Dragon. Every thing on the menu is great, especially the sushi(make sure to get volcano roll and chefs special) and chinsese appetizers. If your the broke college type go for a large wonton and an order of maki, fill you up for under 10$. But all in all i am a 4 year veteran at Pheonix and I hope to one day own an establishment that takes care of their customers as well as they do (Thanks Yen).

if you are looking for the best sushi you need to go here! the Boston and shrimp temp roll are the best you'll get around! also great bowls of alcohol for cheap!!

i went there, maybe 3 months ago, after the renovations.
and the food was way-sub-par, and a bit more expensive than your average chinese restaurant.

when we entered the restaurant we were greeted by the friendly staff. Appetizers included boneless spare ribs which melted in our mouths, unlike the "shoe leather" kind at many other Chinese restaurants. We also had crab rangoon which looked more like Polish pierogies. Although they were tasty, there could have been more crab and less cream cheese.
main courses were excellent. Most tender chicken with cashews, a delicious scallop dish and the seafood sizzler was also excellent, hot and plentiful. We were pleasantly entertained by the carrot animal sculptures on each dish. I highly recommend the Phoenix Dragon. Be sure to go to their website and download discount coupon!

the boneless spareribs at this place are fabulous. They are one of the best things I have ever had. Dim sum is wonderful. Food is generally very good. Stear clear of the sushi which is below average. what they do well they are great at. Not everything is great because menu is too extensive and they try to do too much. GET those boneless spearibs they are scintillating!

We started going to this restaurant several years ago, as it was a nice alternative to driving into Boston for the occasional dim sum. Then they closed about a year ago for renovations. When we recently went back, we found the new look to be not too impressive. We we surprised to see that there was no one else in the restaurant on a usually busy Saturday afternoon. But the most noticeable thing was the food. It was awful. Every dim sum we ordered tasted horrible! There was absolutely no quality to the food. The Shui Long Bow (steamed dumplings) were rock hard and surely came from a frozen package - it was definately not freshly made. The shui mai, har gow, steamed beef balls, phoenix claw, beef tripe - all of it tasted bad. I don't know if they've changed chefs, owners or recipes, but there was no care put into making this food. We will not be returning to this place.

Great restaurant... i have lived down the block for over 2 years and i go there frequently... the food is great, even the japanese is good... i have not had their sushi even though i love sushi but their other japanese is very good, chinese is excellent, and chinese dim sum variations are also very well done... i highly recommend it for anyone with a light or heavy wallet!!

The food is great but it takes really long for them to get out the food the value is good because how t tastes which how good it is may explain why it takes so long the decoration are simple and likable i suggest the sesame chicken.

Veggies are always crisp and the seafood fresh. Rice is better than most I've had regardless of the style/dish it is served with. Take-out order was ready when I walked in the door and it was steaming hot. Not just another asian restaurant.

Ambiance is nothing special, but the dim sum is. I moved to to providence from SF 3 years ago. When I need my dim sum fix I drop by here at lunchtime. The rest of the food is good too.
