Amazing restaurant to have lunch or dinner. I got to enjoy having lunch on the upper out door part of the restraunt what a wonderful experience spending time with your granddaughter there enjoying a meal together ❤️

It’s been acceptable a few times, occasionally enjoyable if seated downstairs, but I can’t remember a good experience in the past couple of years. The service is usually fine in the downstairs part but anywhere else is pretty lousy. Bad enough to negate the novelty of the rooftop seating in town. This is the kind of place where sending an order back, say, because they put unannounced meat on your vegetarian wife’s meal, is a huge hassle. The server won’t apologize, will let you know you’re jamming her up and explain she didn’t cook it as if a) that matters at all, b) you don’t understand the concept of a restaurant, or C) all of the above, and of course is going to expect that 20%. If that kind of thing happened once, no big deal, but it seems to be their culture now and I can’t see going back anytime soon. I guess they get by on folks nostalgic for a Norman Rockwell Main Street joint, but if your server doesn’t look old enough to have known Norm personally, leave immediately. There aren’t that many breakfast places in town, but every one I’ve visited is better, including Benny’s Clam Shack (now Wing Shack, not sure if he’s still doing breakfast, but it was tops). You might as well go to Applebee’s for lunch or dinner.

Have never been so disrespected and embarrassed in my life. I understand the restaurant was extremely busy due to a festival however employees shouldn't take it out on customers. We entered to be rudely told they were closed, then open, and then to go upstairs however not on the deck... only the 2nd floor dining room. When upstairs, we are glanced at but ignore by multiple employees. We talked amongst ourselves stating we might as well leave if no one is going to acknowledge us and that we already had a bad experience downstairs. The bartender hearing us loudly states they are busy and sarcasticly states how she can help us. We were seated but decided to leave and told the server we were all set because they were rude. The bartender started screaming at us in front of families trying to enjoy there meals. We were already leaving and she provoked an argument in front of customers. The weird part though is that the bartender stated she wasn't an employee there however she's working behind the bar.
I've worked as a restaurant manager and I understand how hectic the restaurant environment can get but it doesn't give the employees the right to be rude to customers just for wanting to eat there 😕

Heard that Phil's was now serving dinner so went to check it out. So GLAD we did. Due to the weather it wasn't real busy, so we had our choice of seats. The food was great. Spinach and artichoke dip with homemade pita chips, the best we have ever had. Great fish and chips with sweet potato fries as a sub for regular fries. My friend who is a lasagna snob, raved on about the veggie lasagna and she isn't even a vegetarian. Salad that came with meal was fresh and plentiful and my chowda' was great. $4.00 for a glass of wine, can't beat that, and to top it off we had coupons from the local Valupak that comes in the mail. If I had my way I would eat hear every night. My sister went on the weekend and had the Prime Rib with homemade popovers and is still talking about it. Give them a try for dinner, you won't be disapointed.

Totally out of the usual of Phil's. Everyone at South Kingstown knows that Phil's is the best breakfast place, hands down, bar-none, ever.
Cheap, quick, delicious food, waitresses who'll remember you (I'm a regular, but it only took coming there twice for one of the waitresses to remember what I wanted), and a convenient location. Phil's is just great.

While this place has been a regular spot for my friends and I for the past year, this latest experience was the most horrifying to the point of us never going back there. It all started when some friends and I decided to go out for breakfast. It started out normally when we were seated, but then started going down hill when the waitress-Christine, allowed very little time for us to read over the menu. When we were finally ready to put in out order, she stood there eating her own breakfast, all the while standing there staring at us from 10 feet away. None of us derivated from the menu, only asking for in addition, a biscuit and a side order of bacon. When we received our food, the eggs on the eggs benedict were extremely over cooked, and the chorizo, cheeze and egg breakfast sandwich had no egg on it. When we mentioned this to the waitress, she mumbled under her breath, giving no apologies for the mistakes, and basically threw the new orders ar us... Upon leaving, we decided that the service was so bad that it did not warrant a tip, and we left. While crossing the street to our car, the watiress, Christine, followed us out and in the middle of the street, told us that we were exremely rude and obnoxious people, and that tips were required and that we were never to go back there again,as our business wasn't wanted. After being attacked so rudely in the middle of the street, we went back in to talk to the owner, and the waitress came back up to us and told us that we would have to work with her and that she deserved a tip because she wasn't the person who was making the food. When the owner said that he would comp the food, the waitress again started rudely berating us. I then told the owner about it, who said in a VERY intimidating/harrassing manner, that I was lucky he was even comping the food, and that it would be in the be our best interest to just stand there and be quiet. The food at this restaurant is not worth the harrassment from the staff, and I don't think the owner realizes that his behavior crossed the line...
