I tried this place out with my partner for my birthday. The waitress/cook/bartender/ cashier/ incompetent staff member requested my ID to serve me a beer, which I gave her and failed to even notice it was my birthday! I had to tell her that it pretty much was a let down even coming there because I couldn't finish my beer, one beer! Reason being it was so ungodly hot in the building. The place was like walking into the pits of hell. The employee stated that the air conditioning or swamp cooler was broken. Fine things happen, however, that doesn't excuse why there were not any fans running in there or something to make it more comfortable to a slight degree. Conservatively, it was at least 95° inside. So we set out to have a good time for my birthday until we tried and we wanted to play darts well that dart board is such a piece of crap with all these little bits and pieces in an old cigar box that you can't even play a decent game of darts. So we ordered an appetizer we had planned on ordering the appetizer having a couple of beers playing some pool and dart and then taking our main course with us to go. From the beginning it was a wreck we told her what three items we wanted on our appetizer sampler which was disgusting and you could tell it was frozen came in pre-made and she didn't even cook it all the way my jalapeno poppers were frozen in the middle still. And I specifically said I wanted poppers zucchini and shrimp. Lo and behold the service started being sh-tty then, I was bringing I was brought mozzarella sticks shrimp and poppers but like I said the poppers were still frozen. so we let her know what we wanted and the amount of time it took for her to bring out the zucchini or other food was already ready so there went having an appetizer and a few beers but it didn't matter with it being so hot I couldn't handle it. Being that I have a mess the heat actually exasperates my symptoms and makes it miserable to even be in a hot environment. Then she brings out the meals and I had ordered onion rings my printer had ordered fries and we both got fries and when I let her know that that was also incorrect she said you know I put the stuff in the computer even though I knew you said onion rings and when I went back to make the food and I saw that they both said french fries I was shocked that it was fries so I just went ahead and made it the way that it said on the ticket. I'm sorry but as an employee I understand the heat may have affected her thinking however she took the order she knew it was onion rings so there really isn't an excuse for such a senseless mistake. So then we want to get all of our food to go she doesn't bring us enough napkins doesn't bring us our ticket doesn't bring us a bag to put it all in then we have to wait for her to cook the onion rings meanwhile the rest of our food is getting soggy and cold because our plan was since it was so hot in there to go to the park and just eat our food there we were on a time limit because my partner had to be to work at 9:30 p.m. but I'm sure you can see where this is going as far as ruining my birthday mail and not even being able to enjoy it at the park like we had wanted since it was so hot in there and we couldn't enjoy the establishment. So even after all of these mistakes and what it took for her to get it right and all the extra time we left $5 on the table thinking that was an acceptable tip because there was so many errors in her service that it didn't lend itself to a better tip unfortunately I was a server for 20 years I get that you work off tips but you know you have to provide a service which she did not. Not only were two burgers and one appetizer two beers $71 but as I was looking at the receipt I noticed that an automatic gratuity of 20% was added to my bill without me having any input on whether or not I wanted to give a gratuity gratuity is optional I don't care that she makes two 13 an hour that's not my problem she chose the job she should do the job well and I think it's appalling that any place would even think to automatically add a tip for two people I can understand if it was a party of 10 or something to that effect but that is rude. So then I had to drive back and grab my $5 cash tip since I was already robbed for $10.71 of a tip a 20% tip that I never even wanted to give the food was awful the service was awful I couldn't enjoy my beer couldn't even drink my whole beer ruined my birthday and then I'm expected to give 20% which is for premium service from a server I don't think so. So I mean you might have a different experience there it might have been an off day for them but she should have offered some kind of compromise for the poor quality of service for the heat and for all of the mishaps that happened and it being my birthday and the woman knew that so they've lost a customer unless they want to reach out to me and make it right because that's ridiculous the food was subpar the mushrooms on the mushroom burger are canned everything about the place is run down and not good other reviews I've read were great and I was excited to go there for my birthday because it was a last minute shift of plans because I was like oh let's go try this place and duchesne we're on what a mistake.hope you have a better experience but that place with that kind of service and that quality of dive did not win any points in my book I will not spend that much money on two burgers two beers and one appetizer that is poor quality food ever again. It's no wonder there is only us in one other patron in the bar. Oh and and one thing additional when I went back in to get my $5 and tell her that I can't believe that she added a 20% tip I was told that's what management tells her to do well does management tell you to give sh-tty service and to overlook somebody's birthday to not make their day special and to give him food that they didn't order or that is undercooked I just wonder who is running this place.
