My son and daughter-in-law just had their wedding and reception at Dibbles Inn (January 26, 2013). From the pre-planning stage right through to the last guest departing, the staff at Dibbles Inn provided a wonderful special occasion.

NOTE: Dibbles Inn is under new management, the building has had a major renovation, and the new owners are really in tune with what it takes to put on a spectacular wedding and reception.

When we did the planning, the event coordinator and the owner took a personal interest in what the bride and groom wanted in their wedding and reception. We got a tour of the facilities and the 5 different "rooms" that are available (one is outside in the garden). There were lots of options and choices for food and beverages, at various price levels, for just about any budget. Barb, the General Manager / Wedding consultant, had a check-list of things that needed to be decided which meant that no detail was forgotten. She also offered a number of suggestions about some aspects of the day that we had not yet even thought about.

The staff at Dibbles is very organized and experienced. Throughout the entire planning, and at the actual event, we felt very comfortable and confident that everything would come together as it was planned. We were not disappointed -- they did a fabulous job!

The building interior is Victorian -- and NOT at all like the "box" venues one finds in hotels. Each room is very different and each has it's own style and grace. There are fireplaces everywhere! There is a full, large bar area separate from the individual rooms, which makes for a very comfortable social and recreational setting.

The wedding ceremony was in the Adirondack Room. While the wedding took place in the winter, the glass doors to the patio provided a beautiful view and the vows were exchanged in front of the stone fireplace. Spectacular!!

The reception was held in the Oak Room. It has a large fireplace in the center of the room. Tables are placed in a "L" shaped section of the room, and in the other corner of the room is a large, raised dance floor with an embossed tin ceiling. This is a very unique and beautiful room - we have not seen anything like it. There are some great photos on their website; imagine it at night, with the lights down low, the fireplace lit, and candles glowing on the tables!! It was spectacular.

We also had access to the large bar, it's so big that the photographer also set up a "photo booth" in the room! They also set up a desert room in the Empire Room, which is next to the Adirondack Room and the bar. Our guests could roam the entire first floor, which included 3 separate rooms. It felt like we were having a party for 150 people in someone's mansion. It was wonderful.

The heart of any reception, the food, was delightful! Everything was cooked to perfection, served at the right temperature, elegantly presented and was delicious. The food received all positive compliments from the guests. Several guests have even talked with the owner about bringing other parities there -- which is the highest compliment!

Dibbles Inn is in Vernon, a couple of miles from Turning Stone. We, and most of our guests, are from the Syracuse area. We reserved a block of rooms at Turning Stone for guests that wanted to stay over -- and many took advantage of the offer. The Turning Stone also provided a shuttle bus to transport guests to and from Dibbles Inn. They also provided a limo for the bride and groom. Some of our other guests rented a limo bus in Syracuse, and used the bus to transport them from Syracuse to Dibbles Inn and then back home.

Weddings and receptions are not inexpensive. This event put on by Dibbles was one of the best we have ever attended -- at a very reasonable cost.

went there for thanksgiving and was very dissappointed. had 7 people at 28 dollars per person so it was not cheap. dont mind paying if the food was good, but this place STUNK! no mashed potatoes on thanksgiving, i never heard such a thing. they had scalloped potatoes instead. scalloped potatoes on thanksgiving! come on! the desserts were so hard you could break your plate with them. the food was ice cold and not tasty at all. its a shame because we been there before a few years ago and it was great. never go back here again it just plain STUNK!
