Fresh tasty food for a great price

Single diners beware if the owner is in the house!
I should have sent the food back! Or taken a photo to post.

The noodles were stale/not cooked!
Only 3 small triangles of tofu, 2 small branches of broccoli.

The Thai iced tea had no flavor, the tell-tale sign being the milk was already mixed-in instead of on top.

I was here 1 week prior, Thai owner not present, and it was good, then.

I've eaten Thai food for much of my life, including in Thailand, and this is some of the best I've ever had. The ingredients are fresh, the food is flavorful and delicious. Best of all, the staff is wonderful. With the quality of the meal so high, and the portions such a good size, it's a delicious way to get authentic Thai cuisine and feel good for doing so.

I've been frequenting Thai House since they opened. First, the website listed in this ad is incorrect. Thai House has a Facebook page, but no website.

At this point, I've sampled probably about half the menu. The Pad Thai is good, though I'm a huge fan of the Drunken Noodles. You get a choice of protein (Beef, chicken, pork, scallop, shrimp or tofu).

Prices are reasonable. The most expensive dish on the menu is the Two Lover for $15 and that's a dinner consisting of scallops, shrimp and asparagus. For lunches, you don't pay more than $9.

Appetizers usually top out at $6. Most are priced under $5. The spring rolls are fantastic. Dosed with a touch of curry, glass noodles, vegetables and I think it is chicken. I also love their specials which vary weekly.

The menu also includes soups - usually $3.50. Noodle bowls ($8 to $9), rice dishes (usually no more than $9), noodle dishes (no more than $9), curries ($7 to $9) and salads (around $5 on average). Prices depend on the meat ordered and whether it is a lunch or dinner portion.

Desserts are worthwhile. I love the sticky rice pudding with mango and the fried ice cream. Both cost less than $5.

This is a BYOB establishment, but they offer non-alcoholic drinks. The ginger iced tea is my personal favorite. Hot ginger tea if it is winter. My kids love the homemade lemonade. All for around $2. Thai coffee and Thai iced coffee, fruit juices, sodas and a variety of decaf and caf teas are also on the menu.

Want your dish spiced up? Just ask the owners. The chef will cook to order on most dishes.

The owners are friendly and incredibly helpful. To the point, I've even had staff help my kids with homework while we were waiting for take-out orders. Few restaurants in St. Albans match the service we've gotten here!d
