I've dined here several times and have never been disappointed. Service is topnotch. Menu varied, so even the beef-lover can find something creative. Portions perfect and prepared with detail and attention. Unfortunately, critics tend to review places with either terrible or very good comments on these websites. Don't let one or two negative reviews keep you away from an excellent place such as Buckleys'!

We went to this restaurant for our anniversary, we made a reservation for 7 PM, arriving at the scheduled time we were told out table was not yet ready. Not a problem, we took a seat and relaxed. The hostess seemed anxious to seat us and came up with "Plan B". I should have realized that this was not a good idea but she seemed certain we would be comfortable.
We agreed to this and when I rounded the corner I was horrified to see that the table was five inches from the next table of diners and I was directly on a wall. I had no room to relax, when my husband and I were discussing the menu our neighbours were oh so happy to be into our conversation.
I thanked them and we proceeded to order. I had the risotto with lobster and my husband had steak.
We ordered wine and the server spilled it on the table....he proceeded to clean up the mess and pour me a glass out of the bottle that now was no longer full. He was trapped in the small space between our tables. The hostess came to apologize and at that point I only wanted to eat and get out of there.
When we finally received our food I found two very small pieces of lobster in the risotto and it was not very good at all, my husbands steak was not even hot, missing were the sides which came after he was half finished his steak, how long were we to wait?
Each time we tried to have a conversation our well dressed neighbours felt the need to add their opinions, no matter what we spoke of they were in our conversations.
We finished our food even though we did not care for it as my brother is a chef and we were warned never ever complain about your food and send it back because you never know what you will get when it comes back to you.
We paid the bill and left, never again would I go back there. My husband felt obligated to notify the owners about our dining experience and he was told that they would send us a gift certificate to come back, to date we have not received it.
We are not expecting anything but it astounds me how easy people can lie to you.
I work in the medical profession and am often invited to dinners by pharmaceutical companies, when I find out they are at this restaurant I choose not to attend.

My expectations might have been unreasonably high. I ordered my sugar coated sirloin medium rare and received an extremely rare piece of meat. My boyfriend ordered their coffee marinated rib eye steak, which turned out to have an enormous amount of fat.

If the prices weren't so high for the meat, it wouldn't have been so disappointing. I am willing to try it again to see if they do better. It's a pricey place if you include drinks and a bottle of wine.

I had the NY Sirloin au Poiver, it was delicious, the risotto was perfect. My husband had the filet mignon and lobster mac&cheese(weird but still very good). Overall, I would go back again and again, as budget allows.

"Value" is in the eyes of the beholder, I guess. If you like really good food, particularly steak, and find that it is well worth it to spend $$$$ on a good steak, then this place is a great value. We love just about everything at this place (and my mouth is watering because we are going there for Mother's Day this weekend and I can't wait)! They make an amazing Tenderloin Toast appetizer with their housemade BBQ sauce. It's probably the best appetizer I have ever had. All of the steaks I have tried I've loved. Excellent stuffed shrimp (in the surf and turf is twice as good). I am not a fan of the red wine demi glace, I think it overpowers the meat. Ask about the garlic mashed potatoes before ordering them. They are not creamy but very stiff and I didn't care for them at all. But I don't go there for potatoes.

I particularly love the service. I don't drink often but I'm treated here like I've ordered hundreds of dollars of wine. The service is just as friendly no matter how much you spend (that's not always the case...try not ordering wine at Bedford Village Inn and watch the waitstaff disappear in favor of more profitable tables!).

If you have one really good meal this year, Buckley's is the place to have it.

This is a great steakhouse! The prices are high, but well worth the quality meat you get. If you like steak then definately check this place out!
