We took our parents our last night for their 50th anniversary. At their request, we brought our children with us. Unfortuantely, the restaurant is not really kid friendly. Theky did offer a chicken tender option for children as well as children portions for starred menu items. The cost however for the chicken tender dinner was $14.95. Definitely pricey for a kids meal!
The most aggravating experience of the evening however was the fact that the manager came to our table and made a scene. My brother and I requested that we be given the bill as we were taking our parents out for their anniversary. The waitress, who provided excellent service, did as we had requested. The manager came over to the table demanding we give him the bill back so that he could give it to our dad. He was totally inappropriate and knew of the anniversary. I know that neither me nor my brother will ever return to this establishment! They ruined what should have been a very special celebration!

Always satisfied with the restaurant. Good value for the buck.

There are two sure bet restaurants to take company to or to go out with a friend for a very nice dinner. This is ONE of them. The appetizers as stated leave alot to be desired. I wish they put their Beef Bourginon on the menu permanently it was that good ! - The atmosphere is charming, and I would highly reccomend the experience.

The appetizers included in the fix menu were substandard, however the salads were great and the main course outstanding. For one price four courses are included with a more than acceptable dessert selection. This is a restaurant you would never be embarrassed to take a guest to. The food is always good (with the exception of the included appetizers).

Cute gift stores, maple syrup barn and the wonderful setting make for a nice outing to this old renovated barn restaurant with wood-chip stoves and wonderful ambience.
And the food is fairly good, too, with big servings.
Best for breakfasts.

Whoops! - my last review was for Parkers Maple Barn rather than The Mile Away...
Ratings would be about the same though - The Mile Away is also beautiful old-fashioned beam-posted buildings with a nice big fireplace and sectioned eating areas. The food is quite good although not always a huge choice.
Perfect for special occasions meals.

First visit in a few years and the place is still outstanding. Great value for an excellent 4 course meal.
