Fun tiki bar and restaurant. Unique food and dining experience you can't find anywhere else around here. Their pork dishes are scrumptious. Eating outside with the breeze and views makes this a summer must.

I hope they are making a lot of money there, because my Cuban sandwich had the least amount of meat on it than any sandwich I've ever had. Definitely not worth the $9.00 for it. Also I hope they didn't charge extra for all the flies! Plus the service was poor the waiter took our food to every table trying to figure out who it belonged to. Cold by the time we got it!

Each time we've been there (too many times to count throughout its being open), the food, staff, and atmosphere has been great. We've rented from Interbanks Outfitters and eaten at Backwater Jack's over the years, and it is our go-to spot, even if the weather's too dicey for paddleboarding or kayaking. We've always felt like BJX is our home away from home, and we attribute it to the kind staff, the wonderful atmosphere, and the stunning view of the Pamlico River, which strikes me every single time!

Love BJX! Their Caribbean Salad w/ grilled shrimp is awesome. Give it a try. And their grilled shrimp tacos are my close 2nd.
Love how nice everyone is. I always feel welcome.

Very good! We love going there in the summer and sitting out on the deck overlooking the river! atmosphere is always friendly and has a jimmy buffet feel!
