I arrived at the restaurant around 10:55 AM but the door was locked since they don't open until 11:00 AM. No problem, I just waited until 11:00 AM but the door was still locked. So, I go over to the window and peer in the see what was or wasn't happening. Then I see a hand waving in front of my face and hear laughter coming from inside. Then the blinds or shade closes and I hear more laughter. A few minutes later someone unlocks the door. I decided to leave because I don't give money to rude wait staff.

El Ranchero in Spruce Pine, NC is excellent! Try the "Carnitas" (pork shoulder) and the seafood. Seafood at a Mexican restaurant?!!? Absolutely! The best scallops you can find north of Asheville. This restaurant is a treat!

Myself and a few friends were passing through and stopped by to eat. They have a great selection of food. Kind and courteous staff. I had their Chicken & Scallops-awesome selection. I'm sure we'll stop again when in the area.
