The food is amazing. I had the grilled scallops. They were cooked perfect!
The waitress was helpful and polite and the view is breathtaking!
Great drink specials.
After dinner we sat outside in the rocking chairs and enjoyed the beautiful view.

Been eating there for many years, the food is great, but they drop their wine portions down to the point I’ll never order another glass of wine. Eight dollars for maybe 3 ounces of house wine.

The outside dining was open for lunch. The crab cake was the best ever. Very good lunch the best on the island.

Long wait, which was expected...but way longer than the quoted time when we arrived. There were several (many) open tables, but were told that they were understaffed and couldn't open the rest of the tables until more waitstaff showed up 🤷‍♂️

The food was just not good. The shrimp and grits and the crab cake weren't even edible --- just dripping with grease and gelatinous. Disgusting!

On a positive note, the grilled tuna and wasabi tuna appetizer were decent. Not worth the nearly 2 hr wait and the $140 bill

Great food! The Mahi sandwich with the Pink island sauce is excellent. And then the Key Lime pie dessert. Sears Landing is always a must when you are near Surf City!

My husband and I finally found the time for a 4 day getaway and of course wanted to take our dog Gizmo along. He found a place at north Topsail Island. Our first night out dining out was just terrible. So we asked a local couple where we should go. All I wanted was crab dip and peel and eat shrimp. They told us to go to Sears.

Everything was going fine, we decided to wait at the bar so we could sit outside ti enjoy the view. We finally got a wonderful spot right in the corner and the view was awesome. Then it started, the table next to us asked their waitress to close the drop down plastic tarp because someone in their party was cold. And of course she asked us if that would be okay since we could still see the view. We said sure that would be fine. Then our waitress came over and asked could she get one of our chairs for another table and I said yes, that would be fine. Then another waitress came up and wanted to grab our other vacant chair that was in the corner and with my pocket book resting on it. And before I could even lean forward, she had already placed her hand on my back to try and walk around me to get the dang chair !! Needless to say we both got up and paid for our 3 drinks and order of very small wings and LEFT !!

Asked for outdoor seating, told all empty tables were reserved, after we drank & ate those tables were still empty. Ordered WR3 drinks, bartender had to find someone else to make them because she didn't know how and was too busy talking with another couple at the other end of the bar. Ordered Blue crab appetizers, served floating in grease slightly burnt on the outside and cold & soggy on the inside, must have been frozen. Next was the grilled scallops again served floating in grease, so much so that the fries next to them became soggy after absorbing all the grease. Service was terrible, all the young girls with the exception of one, stood at the front counter and chit chatted while the customers us included looked for service.
When we asked for your famous calamari as advertised on your web site, we were rudely told by your kitchen staff that you haven't served that in years and the web site hasn't been updated in years.
So, $130.+ later, all I can say is NEVER AGAIN!!!

I agree with nc food. Food is terrible for the price, waitress seems to be always in a bad mood, fish is NOT fresh for being on the water, and last but not least, they took the son out of the picture and it is still really bad. I would give it a zero star if I could. I heard it was temporarily closed this winter and they are doing repairs. Hope they are repairing the food and they have brought in a new chef!!

My family and I had a great dining experience at Sears Landing. I had the grilled shrimp, scallops and tuna. The fruit was fresh and wonderful! It overlooks the water and has a nice atmosphere!

Terrible food, slow service, sultry servers.

What a difference a year makes. Last year(08), a good value with good food. This year... terrible.
Fruit... mushy, slaw....old, crab cake... a joke. No discernible actual crab in it. Heard the son took over the business this year. It shows.
